How to find a Utah Wedding Photographer that Suits Your Needs
Utah is America's marriage capitol. To support the demand for wedding services, there are literally hundreds of qualified (and not so qualified) wedding photographers seeking employment. So whom do you choose?
As if wedding planning weren't difficult enough as it is, many people find themselves forced to sort through a myriad of phone listings, internet pages and friend recommendations to find someone suitable.
So while I can't pick a photographer for you, I can give you some suggestions as to what to look for when selecting the best in Utah photography. Hope it helps!
Tips for finding a good Utah Photographer for your Wedding
- Choose someone with experience! An inexperienced photographer might not be able to handle difficult variables such as poor lighting, indoor vs. outdoor environments, etc.
- Make sure your photographer knows how to pose his/her subjects. While every bride is beautiful, strategic positioning can highlight her most beautiful feature. (For example, a photographer that tells a bride to angle her head up, knows that this action elongates the neck and eliminates an unexpected double chin, etc)
- Make sure your photographer has good equipment. Many photographers are going digital, which allows them to take as many pictures as they want without worrying about how much of their paycheck will be spent on developing. Also, if they have poor quality cameras, the pictures you get will be a direct reflection of that fact.
- Consider how long the individual/company has been in business. A long history usually means a reputable service. Photographers that aren't any good won't last in such a cut-throat environment.
- Plan beforehand what type of pictures you'd like to have taken, and where. Make sure your photographer is flexible enought to accomodate your wedding plans.
