Valentine's Day - Showing Love To Each Other
It is important for every family to show their love for each other. What might be a better time than Valentine's Day to do so?
Why not playing some games or engage in some fun activities, all projected to show love and support for one another?

Preparing A Meal For Parents
Children start to enjoy preparing meals for mom and dad at a certain age. For a fun Valentine's Day activity, the kids could be asked to prepare a meal for parents. Ideally this would be the breakfast in bed. The breakfast could include foods that are traditionally said to be romantic foods, like strawberries and chocolate or whatsoever the kids would like to prepare. Probably they even like to prepare a special Valentine's Day menu and let parents choose off the menu. This can the start of an annual event on Valentine's Day and become a fun tradition.
Snapshots Of Taking Care
One amusive activity for Valentine's Day is giving each other "snapshots" for being who they are. Over the course of the year everyone, mom, dad and the kids can add "snapshots" to a jar or container. These small papers might include things like "dad helped me building my kite" or "David is reading books to his sister every night without complaining". Read these little snapshots of honorable things, and thank one another for giving care, while emptying the jar to start collecting those "snapshots" again for the following year.
Funny Jars For The Kids
You will find a lot of Disney themed cookie jars
or other cookie jars for kids
, you can use for collecting those "snapshots". They are not just practical, but also decorative.
Family Trivia
Another fun family game for Valentine's Day is a kind of family trivia. This is especially fun if there are at least two children in the family kids who are already a bit older. Parents prepare a trivia game that consists of a series of cards with a bit of family trivia on each card. One family member draws a card and tries to answer the given question correctly. If correct, the family member gets a point. The one with the most points will get a prize or some extra chocolate sauce on their dessert. Questions might be like:
- Who suffered a broken arm at the age of 9?
- Which of us measured the length of tooth paste at the age of 4?
- Which one of us slipped into mom and dad's room every night until the age of 6?
Hidden Hearts
"Hidden hearts" is another funny Valentine's Day activity family game. For this game, the children are given clues to find chocolate heartsChocolate Hearts
Valentine's Dinner Activity
Why not telling each other at dinner on Valentine's night, why the family members love one another. What did dad do that mom loves him? Why does David love his sister? What is so special in Jenny for dad? Probably it looks a little bit corny to read this now. But finally, everybody will love hearing those wonderful and positive things about themselves, that the other family member appreciate. Crafting Valentine's Day Cards
Last, but not least, a fun family activity for Valentine's Day is to create cards for other people. The kids can handprint cards for the grandparents or for their friends. Handmade cards are much more meaningful than the ones you will buy in a shop. And additionally kids get a lot of experience of literally putting their hearts into crafting the cards for beloved ones.
