I thought everyone loved Valentine's Day! Boxes of chocolates in heart shaped boxes, romantic red roses, adorable teddy bears in t-shirts dressed up for the holidays, what's not to love! My dad always had a special "Valentine's Day for My Daughter" card waiting for me when I woke up on February 14th. My husband always has a romantic valentine surprise gift and I never forget cute little hearts and flowers for my daughters.Valentine's Day is not loved by everyone though! In society today if you don't have a special lover or companion who sends you gifts and flutters about planning a romantic surprise, it's a day set up to make you feel bad about yourself! Powerful emotions that make you hate everything red or pink. Feel like hair pulling when you see those cute t-shirts with hearts and cupids? Do you get the urge to chuck those cute little heart shaped candies at images of lovers in romantic silhouettes? You are not alone if you hate Valentine's Day and all the little gifts, cards, apparel and commercialism!

- I've never been one for Valentines Day. I've lived my life alone, devoid of any outside affection, excluding my family of course. I'm almost twenty-one now and for the first time in my life I actually had a reason to celebrate today (V-Day), but that blew up quick. Three and a half months ago I got my first girlfriend (I know I'm a "late bloomer"), her name was Brandy and I'd known her for practically my whole life. She was my sisters bff and, as it turns out she liked me. So in October we started dating, everything was going fine. We'd had a couple of arguments, but nothing too major. I had it all planned out, flowers, chocolate, trip to the park (she loves the outdoors, very nature loving person) and in the end I was going to surprise her with concert tickets the day before Valentines Day and a 14k white gold ring with 3 diamonds in it. But, as it would be, she tells me one week before the big day that she doesn't "love me" and that she thinks of me more as her Brother. LOVE SUX!
