According to tradition, a vampire is among the living dead, their corpse rises from the grave at night. Upon rising they are more like the dead, cold, weak and hungry, than the living. A vampire becomes stronger after a little snack of blood and will look more like the living, only paler.

A vampire has an ashen and pale complexion. To achieve this look you'll need to mix a small amount of gray and green into a large amount of white greasepaint.

You want a subtle look - so add very small amounts of color to the white and then test the shade.

Once you have this base color mixture - apply it to all exposed areas of skin, face, neck and hands. Remember you want a nice subtle look.

We want our vampire to have a slightly gaunt and sunken look, but not raw boned. So, lightly, apply gray greasepaint under the cheek bones and in the indented part of your temples.

Use a medium size blending brush to blend the gray into subtle shadows. Now you should have a nice sunken appearance.

The eyes and eyebrows are an essential part to the complete look of a vampire.

Apply black greasepaint around the eyes - close to the upper and lower eyelashes and in the hollow of your eyelid.

The shading should be the darkest in the center of your eye and gradually get lighter.

Working with a small eye shadow brush blend the color until it goes softly into the pale skin color.

Apply a pale color powder, lightly, to set the greasepaint so it won't smear, if you touch your face. Apply as much as you need and brush the excess off with a soft power brush.

The correct eyebrows are important - you want an upward, slanted, high pointed arch. Use a sharp black eyebrow pencil - apply very small hair like lines on your skin in the direction the hair grows.

There are many styles and preferences for applying vampire makeup. So really almost anything goes. The above instructions are for the style I prefer.
