Named after Captain George Vancouver, the city with its population of over half of a million (though almost 2.5 million people living in the metropolitan Greater Vancouver area) nested in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada; between the Pacific Ocean and the Rocky Mountains.
Greater Vancouver consists of the following cities: Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Richmond, New Westminster, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Langley, Pitt Meadows, Delta and a few more, smaller cities.
