Letterpress Resources Around the Web

The number of letterpress resources online is growing bigger and bigger! This is a great time to get started with your own press!
Introduction to Letterpress
The de facto standard of beginning letterpress information. From the introduction: "Welcome to the wonderful world of letterpress printing! To start you on your way in this exciting, challenging, rewarding and anachronistic avocation, what follows is an introduction, freshly prepared for the start of the new millennium and updated to 2005, to the people, places, and online resources that will save you a great deal of time as you embark upon your letterpress activities. At the end of the document are links to dozens of other sites, many of which themselves contain links to hundreds of additional sites related to letterpress printing."

PPLetterpress Yahoo! Group
From the homepage: "Founded by Gerald Lange in 2001, PPLetterpress is a forum and clearinghouse on studio-letterpress and letterpress-related typography. While the subject focus is on printing with digital type and the photopolymer plate process, the group site also encompasses related investigative and exploratory printing and typographic techniques, as well as historical and contemporary letterpress practices and concerns.

PPLetterpress serves as both a discussion list and reference site with online resources on type and typography, experimental and traditional printing, and allied interests. Members are encouraged to add resources to the site."
SFLetterpress Yahoo! Group
From the homepage: "This is an open access network of hobby and commercial letterpress printers who are located in and around the San Francisco Bay Area, the West Coast of the United States (California, Oregon, Washington), and those from anywhere else in the world who have an interest or curiosity about letterpress printing...

The purpose of this group list is to provide an easy way to communicate with letterpress printers about any topic related to letterpress printing, including best practices, supplies, and equipment. This network is also a way to keep the art and craft of letterpress printing alive and well in the San Francisco Bay Area and the West Coast.

The group is completely open to allow anyone and everyone to participate. There are no dues, no fees, and no meetings to attend...just a lot of great group communication via the internet about an art, craft and skill that we all enjoy."
