A little bit about Van Gogh

Born in Holland in March 1853, Van Gogh did not begin to learn to paint until he was 27 years old, and since his death in 1890. And, although he has become well known for cutting off his ear, he was one of the most famous artists of all time, and he has produced an amazing number of paintings during his short lifetime.

Some of his original paintings bring millions of dollars at auctions, but I am okay with just getting Van Gogh posters. They aren't the authentic real thing, but they are still beautiful.

Among the favorites of art lovers everywhere are "The Starry Night" and "Sunflowers 2," both painted around 1888-1889.

About Van Gogh

"Many people arrived [at Vincent's funeral], mainly artists, among whom I recognized Lucien Pissarro and Lauzet. I did not know the others, also some local people who had known him a little, seen him once or twice and who liked him because he was so good-hearted, so human..."
