Vanity - Common in Both Sexes

Vanity, I believe, is a fault that both men and women succumb to but it generally manifests itself in different ways between the sexes. It goes back to the time of the ancient Egyptians and Queen Cleopatra, and probably even further. This site is intended as being a humourous look at some such situations and examples of vanity which occur all around us in everyday life.

Vanity Can Strike At A Very Early Age!

Let's therefore start at the beginning

Diaper Body SuitThere are no upper or lower age limits at which vanity can begin to be a factor in our lives. It is prone to strike at any time, in any one of us.

There is a common feeling in women the world over that certain garments make a particular part of their anatomy look big. I'm sure you know what I mean. But have you noticed that it seems to be starting with them at a younger age these days? Sound familiar?

Vanity T-Shirt

Going A Little Bit Thin Up Top?

Self-conscious or in denial?

Bald T-ShirtI was in my very early twenties when I began rapidly losing my hair. "Male Pattern Baldness," I was reliably informed, which did run in my family. It is not, obviously, something I would have wished upon myself but I can honestly say that it has never actually bothered me too much. I will always suspect that my varied hairstyles in my teenaged years contributed to this development at such an early age.

At the age of thirteen, I discovered Brylcreem. I began applying it daily, without ever reading the instructions on the back of the tub. I used to pile it on in my attempts to look like Elvis, a large tub lasting me on average about three days, to the extent that it used to melt under the hot lights in the school classroom and run down my neck and face. Many a good shirt was ruined in this way before my mother eventually put her foot down and banned my usage. Perhaps understandably!

My own brush with vanity in a related fashion came along when what hair I had left started showing signs of grey. Perhaps strangely, although baldness had never unduly concerned me, going grey was a disaster! That is when I began shaving my head...

The T-shirt pictured above right probably sums up the feelings of a lot of men. Click here to visit the online store where this item and lots more like it can be found at bargain prices.
