The sport of equestrian vaulting is one of the seven disciplines recognized by the FEI, and United States Equestrian Federation. It is often described as gymnastics on horseback and dancing on horseback. it is one of the most beautiful of the equestrian sports. Vaulting requires many years of training for both the vaulter and the horse. A very high level of trust is required by both horse and vaulter. The sport of vaulting continues to grow in the US while in Europe it is more popular. The American Vaulting Association is the organization that promotes and oversees the sport in the US in combination with the FEI and USEF.
