Vegan Sweets and Frosted Treats!!

If you're a vegan or vegetarian and looking for a vegasnacktacular, or veg-a-paloozo food fest, look no further and no bigger than teeny TeaNY a cute little nook in the New York's Lower East Side (LES). It's actually larger than a bread box but smaller than most NYC one bedroom apartments. There is a fair amount of seating available including an adorable sunk-in patio space.

Just a few tidbits to nosh on while I haven't sampled the entire menu, I can say the salads are divine. The creamy (vegan) 7-herb dressing is a must try!! What has really blown me away though, being a sweet treats kinda gal, are the deserts. I am living out one of my most joyful childhood memories when I lick the delish white frosting off the strawberry shortcake. Does anyone remember suzy-Qs, still full of horrible stuff which I believe includes beef fat...although that may just be oreos? Given that, my commitment to vegan eating and lifestyle stands in complete conflict with the Suzi-Q (a face-off I never could have imagined possible back in the innocent days of my youth). Finally, I have found solace. I am in sheer heaven with these Teany dessert cakes. Frosting, frosting, frosting!! Now I know I can't have this everyday, otherwise I'd need to start an FAA (Frosting Addicts Anonymous) group modeled after AA, OA, and all the other *A's out there or ready to be formed, like restless leg syndrome anonymous (RLSA) and the like.

By the way, the cake underneath the frosting is also top notch!!

In closing, I would like to add, that I have not found comparable vegan frosting anywhere. While I hate to give a negative review of anything vegan, I feel it's only fair to my vegan mates. Babycakes came highly recommended by a vegan friend of mine, but upon further research, I found the frosting and deserts did not rank at all, especially compared to Teany's offerings. That's my story and I'm sticking (with sticky frosted fingers) to it!! As you now know I have a slight bias. We all do. You may want to conduct your own research. It's hardly an unpleasant pursuit. Let me know what you find out!!
