I tend to bounce between shoulder bags and backpacks when it comes to my gear. But I'm also in the running for a utilitarian sports bag and a cool around town item or two.

- One of the best sites I've found when it comes to ensuring products are vegan. She has assembled manufacturers that are meticulous in their approach to workers, the environment and our planet. All the products are 100% vegan. Prior to this site, I had no idea just how many "green" products are not vegan; from the glue used to common synthetic materials.

- These folks make a line of high quality vegan bags. Traditionally their bags were very utilitarian, but their latest line is sassy and fun while still staying true to their hemp-loving, natural-dyed roots.

- A wonderful US based cruelty-free online storefront for a wide range of products. Her bag selection, though, I find to be very limited.
Feature: Ecolution's "The Traveler"
The first item I settled on was the Traveler. I got it at Comondi.This is a sturdy and utilitarian, if somewhat pricey, bag. Not overly high on the sassy scale and best for someone with a very large laptop. Lot's of room!
Retailing for $137 CDN, this is one of the roomiest shoulder bags I have used. With lots of room for your gadets, papers and books. It even has a compartment for some overnight clothes and a restraining strap.

Feature: Ecolution's "Hitchhiker"
Finally! A hemp, vegan and STRIKING design to a shoulder bag. A snugger fit for my PowerMac than the Traveler, and bold enough to get more than a passing mention from business associates.100% Romanian organic hemp. Purported to be higher quality and longer lasting than the less expensive chinese hemp.
Perfect for the hippy/hemp loving crowd looking for something casual but fun. Retails for $70.99 CDN.

Feature: Recycled Rubber and Hemp Man Purse
Okay. This is likely just a purse. But being a man, I assume it's a man purse. I haven't handled or purchased this item, unlike the two above, but I do find it attractive in styling and simplicity. No information is provided as to the source of the Hemp.Retails for $36.95 USD and comes in three colors as shown.

Feature: Basura Shopping Bag
Okay. These aren't exactly up my alley. Maybe because I'm a guy looking to be "cool" and "hip" or, more likely, I'm just not man enough to be seen toting one of these.But regardless, these bags are pretty sassy. They are more of a shopping bag (though they do have a line of purses and the like.)
There are a few makers of bags like these, but this manufacturer is a fair trade cooperative in the Phillipines that employs women and children to create these bags out of re-used juice containers.
