Veggie Tales Birthday Party Theme and Ideas

Decor: Get green and red balloons and streamers and use them to decorate. For a Veggie Tale background, paint posterboards with the characters, you can print them out from BigIdea.com for copying. When the children arrive, play some Veggie Tales songs. Use plain green or red plates/cups and decorate them with Veggie Tale stickers. Red or green napkins/forks/spoons.

Food: cake and snow-cones. Cake decorated like Bob or Larry. Snow cones are a big hit. Shave the ice ahead of time. You could also do red and green cupcakes. Adding eyes, mouth and nose to each. If you do icecream instead then do mint for green or strawberry for red.

Games:
1. Pin the Nose on Bob. Blindfold them, spin once, point them in the right direction. They will feel around the paper for the right spot. For the young ages have them close or cover their own eyes and walk toward the poster.
2. Vegetable stamping. Use potatoes, celery, broccoli, and an onion. Cover the children with make shift smocks made out of plastic garbage bags. Use acrylic paints and have wipes on hand to quickly clean up hands and arms.
3. Cotton Bowl game. Get a bag of cotton balls, two large bowls, large spoon and blindfold. Each child trys to get as many cotton balls they can from one bowl to the other bowl without seeing or touching them.
4. Play musical chairs with a veggie tale song.

Favor bags: Veggie Tale book, Green coin purse, veggie stickers (can get at CBD.com), lip whistles (after the song 'I love my lips'), a red sucker. (Give toddlers child-safe objects.) Don't forget to check your local christian store for veggie character toys, pencils, movies etc. Anything red and green will work.

Last Resort: Try your local Bible/Christian Store to find Veggie Tale Characters to use for decoration & cake toppings!
