Velvet Goldmine is a film about an era in Rock and Roll that totally passed me by - Glam Rock or Glitter Rock. It is a fascinating examination of a world I know nothing about. But I love the music and the spectacle.

Why do I like this movie?
Well, it does have Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Ewan McGregor. Is that enough for you? No? Well it also has a future Batman. Oh yes, let me not forget United States of Tara super-star-actress Toni Collette.
Still not enough? How about the way it mimics the film classic Citizen Kane?
Well, that is enough for me.
But wait, the Cannes Film Festival gave VELVET GOLDMINE an Award of Merit. Velvet Goldmine was also nominated for a couple of Oscars (one for the terrific costumes)!
