Is the VeriChip the Mark of the Beast?
Currently the VeriChip is not the mark of the beast. But at some point in the future it could be part of the physical mark that is put on a person's forehead or right hand.
Privacy advocates Katherine Albrecht and Liz McIntyre are the most prominent opponents of implanted microchips.

They are coauthors of a position paper on the use of spychips, "RFID: The Big Brother code, the books "Spychips: How Major Corporations and Government Plan to Track Your Every Move with RFID" (2006) and "The Spychips Threat: Why Christians Should Resist RFID and Electronic Surveillance" and the Antichips.org website.
Their work broadly overlaps that of CASPIAN, a grassroots privacy group founded by Albrecht in 1999 to oppose the use of "loyalty cards" to track consumer purchases in supermarkets. Associated sites include Spychips.org, a site opposing RFID chips hidden in consumer goods, and Nocards.org, with more general discussion of privacy issues.
Notable quotes include McIntyre (on the VeriChip liability waiver for product failure) "I wouldn't buy toilet paper that required that kind of a disclaimer, never mind a product that's supposed to serve as a lifeline in an emergency.", and Albrecht: "A man with a chip in his arm may soon find himself wondering whether that cute gal on the next bar stool likes his smile or wants to clone his VeriChip. It gives new meaning to the burning question, 'Does she want my number'?"
VeriChip at a Glance

VeriChip is the last Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved human-implantable radio-frequency identification (RFID) microchip. It is marketed by VeriChip Corporation, a subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions, and it received United States FDA approval in 2004. About twice the length of a dime, the device is typically implanted between the shoulder and elbow area of an individual's right arm. Once scanned at the proper frequency, the VeriChip responds with a unique 16 digit number which could be then linked with information about the user held on a database for identity verification, m...
Is the VeriChip the Mark of the Beast?
By itself the VeriChip is not the mark of the beast. The mark of the beast will only be offered after the beast has come. The beast is Satan coming to earth disguised as God. He will appear in a beautiful body and will require people to worship him and receive his mark.
VeriChip could be part of the mark of the beast

When Satan comes to earth claiming to be God he will require people to receive the mark of the beast. It is possible that a VeriChip could be implanted in the forehead or right hand as a part of the mark of the beast.
This would probably only occur in the more industrialized countries.
Currently the VeriChip is not the mark of the beast. But at some point in the future it could be part of the physical mark that is put on a person's forehead or right hand.
Mark of the beast - forehead or right hand
"He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Revelation 13:16,17
The mark of the beast will be placed on a person's forehead or right hand.

USA
Talking Prescriptions - 13.56 MHz tags are being placed on prescriptions for Visually Impaired Veterans. The Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient pharmacies are now supplying the tags with label information stored inside that can be read by a battery powered, talking prescription reader. Canada
The Canadian Cattle Identification Agency began using RFID tags as a replacement for barcode tags. The tags are required to identify a bovine's herd of origin and this is used for trace-back when a packing plant condemns a carcass. Currently CCIA tags are used in Wisconsin and by US farmers on a voluntary basis. The USDA is currently developing its own program. see -

The UK
In the UK, systems for prepaying for unlimited public transport have been devised, making use of RFID technology. The design is embedded in a creditcard-like pass, that when scanned reveals details of whether the pass is valid, and for how long the pass will remain valid. The first company to implement this is the NCT company of Nottingham City, where the general public affectionately refer to them as "beep cards".
The current most common areas of Usage
High-frequency RFID tags are used in library book or bookstore tracking, pallet tracking, building access control, airline baggage tracking, and apparel and pharmaceutical item tracking. High-frequency tags are widely used in identification badges, replacing earlier magnetic stripe cards. These badges need only be held within a certain distance of the reader to authenticate the holder. The American Express Blue credit card now includes a high-frequency RFID tag, a feature American Express calls ExpressPay -
