Very Early Signs of Pregnancy

Trying to spot very early signs of pregnancy can be a tricky business as all the signs can be accredited to something else.   All women have different symptoms; some may have only a few symptoms while other may have all the symptoms. Below is a list of the symptoms of pregnancy, beware though, they can all be put down to something else.

1) Fatigue or tiredness - Very early signs of pregnancy such as tiredness and fatigue can occur as early as 1 week after conception!

2) Missing your period - This is a clear sign that you may be pregnant and alerts most women.  However it is possible to experience shorter or lighter bleeding than normal while being pregnant.

3) Implantation bleeding - One of the very early signs of pregnancy is implantation bleeding.  It is possible to experience spotting in very early pregnancy which could indicate the egg implanting in the uterine wall.  This is know as implantation bleeding and can occur 6 to 12 days after conception.

4) Breast Tenderness - Your breast may feel swollen, tender or just sensitive.  This can happen occur as early as 1 to 2 weeks after conception.

5) Irritable or moody - Hormonal changes early on in pregnancy can cause mood changes which may point to pregnancy.

6) Nausea and vomiting (morning sickness) - Another one of the very early signs of pregnancy is nausea, and although it is more commonly known as morning sickness, it can occur at any time of the day.  It is due to the raised hormone levels in the body and can occur between 2 to 8 weeks after conception

7) Frequent urination - Due to the changes inside the body you, may find you make more and more trip to the toilet.  This occurs between 6 to 8 weeks after urination.

8) Food cravings - We have all heard of odd cravings that pregnant women desire.  These food cravings can occur all the way through pregnancy.

9) Headaches - Headaches are amongst the very early signs of pregnancy due to raised hormone levels in the body, however attributing a headache to being pregnant is hard to recognize

Do not become worried if you do not experience all these symptoms if you are pregnant.  Every woman's experience of pregnancy is different; there is no 'typical' pregnancy.  The symptoms above are a collections of the different ways in which pregnancy symptoms can manifest themselves.  You may only experience for example, missing a period, where as other women may experience many different symptoms.

Some women find the very early signs of pregnancy hard to cope with especially having to go through the normal routine of work and family life.  It can be hard for example if you are suffering nausea or frequent urination at work, many trips to the toilet can be hard to disguise!  Other women may be finding it hard to cope due to the fatigue, but it is a balancing act we sometimes have to endure.

If you think you may be pregnant what should you do?  Well, you can go to your doctor, or if you do not want to do this when there are very early signs of pregnancy and you are not sure, you can take a home pregnancy test.

Are you pregnant or not?

What should I do now?

You may have the very early signs of pregnancy and you are now wondering what should I do now.

You can get yourself a free online pregnancy test or visit a store and buy an instant pregnancy test kit. There are many different types available.

If you do get a positive result (meaning you are pregnant) then you should make an appointment with your doctor for confirmation.

If you are continuing to get the very early signs of pregnancy and the test is coming out negative then there are a few reason why this may be.

1) You may not be pregnant but experiencing symptoms similar to those of early pregnancy.

2) The test kit may not be functioning correctly, don't worry there is usually more than one test kit in a pack.

3) You may be trying to test for pregnancy too early. Hormone levels may not be strong enough in the body to give a positive test result due to it being so early on in the pregnancy.

If you have any doubts then make an appointment with your doctor to know for sure. Self diagnosis is all well and good, but proper diagnosis by a trained medical expert must be sought out.

Be sure with a home pregnancy test!

Only recommended pregancy tests

If you have noticed the very early signs of pregnancy then there is only one way to find out for sure. Take a home pregnancy test and stop guessing!

Exercise while pregnant!

Exercise and the very early signs of pregnancy?

I would imagine that the very early signs of pregnancy may put many women off exercise. The fact that they are exerting themselves may feel un-natural in this delicate time.

Many moons ago, pregnant women(showing the very early signs of pregnancy) were expected to put their feet up and stay inactive for the full term of pregnancy, and this is still the case today. However after the initial stages of pregnancy when the things are not so sensitive, exercise is recommended by some doctors but in a more gentle way.

Gentle exercise geared towards pregnancy are recommended such as walking, water exercises and yoga, and staying fit is not only seen as good for the mother but for the baby as well.

If you are worrying about the about of weight you are going to put on and want to do something about it, then try Pregnancy Without Pounds , which offer great advice on how to do it.

However this in not the time to be worried about weight gain or diminishing fitness levels. Over the course of the pregnancy you can be doing very gentle exercises that can help with the birth of the baby. In the early stages of pregnancy care must be taken not to over exert yourself and you do not want any adverse effect. If in doubt then cease from all exercise, but some women see exercising while pregnant as a means to 'bounce back' after the birth of the baby.

But don't take my word for it, ask your medical practitioner for advice, they may be able to show you some simple exercises or point you in the direction of an exercise group. Every women is different so take medical advice first before embarking on any exercise regime.
