Why a Squidoo Diary?
Recently I started my own Squidoo stats lens. Although Squidoo stats can give you valuable insight on how your lenses are doing, it only shows numerical progress. I decided to create a complementary Squidoo diary to go with it.
I plan to use this Squidoo diary to record some of my Squidoo activities, such as when I create or update lenses. I'll also try to report other Squidoo-related stuff. I'm hoping this will give me a more clear picture of my Squidoo progress over time.

May 2008 Goals
My Squidoo goals for May 1 to May 15:- Create at least ONE lens every day.
- Have 100 lenses by May 15.
- Update at least THREE lenses every day.
- Keep Oh Rubber Ducky! in the Top 100 list.
Goals for May 16 to May 31:
- Update at least FIVE lenses each day.
- Create at least TWO backlinks to lenses each day. Here's how:
- Have at least FIVE lenses in Tier 1.
- Keep Oh Rubber Ducky! in the Top 100 list.
Well, writing down all those goals and plans of action was very satisfying. :) Now I just have to stick with it!

Brain dead, brain dead, brain dead. Was out all day, worked on a bunch of articles to meet a deadline, could have easily blown off Squidoo tasks... decided not to. I just put less effort into it than usual.Lenses Updated:

Glad you like the concept. :) This diary has been surprisingly motivational for me.
I considered providing details as far as where I'm getting backlinks, but finally decided against it. Probably sounds weird, since I've been open about just about all my other Squidooing activities, but I don't feel comfortable about reporting where I'm getting all my backlinks. My fear is that if the wrong kind of people (spammers) decided to copy my strategies, they'll flood these places and cause Squidoo lenses to banned from them.
Squidoo lenses already have a bad reputation in some circles and are outright banned from others, and I don't want to help contribute to the problem. I decided it was better to just summarize my backlinking strategies when I outlined my goals for the month.

- This is a really clever idea. It's great to have some insight of a successful lensmaster, and get to know the way they operate a little bit better. Likewise, it feels a lot more personal than most lenses out there.
I like the idea behind "good enough now, improve later". I don't think I could pull it off though; I wish xD. I spend so much time polishing up lenses before publishing. I didn't think I was a perfectionist until I started squidoo, lol.
My one suggestion would be to just be more detailed about how you got the backlinks. Not a big deal, but it would add a little bit more personality to this lens, as well as maybe even increase clickouts for you.

- Congratulations! You are now my mentor -- with my new goal of 100 lenses. I like the idea of publishing when they are "good enough" and then tweaking as I progress. One a day is an awesome goal!
