Early British and American Politics
The source information is from a large collection of Victorian Era newspapers saved by my great-great-grandfather, George Burgess (1829-1905) during his life. He spent over 12 years in America from the age of 15 and on his return to England in 1857 he bought back with him a selection of early American newspaper cuttings which formed the beginnings of his Victorian Scrapbook.
