Daniel Westling is the boyfriend of the Crown Princess Victoria since 2002.

Media is speculating about a marriage but so far there are no statements from the Royal court. As of June 20th 2008 Daniel Westling is moving in within the castle area in Drottningholm. Media stressed that he is not moving in with Victoria or her family but will live in another part of the Royal Castle. They are not engaged or nor announced to be married yet.

Representing Sweden

As heir apparent to the throne, the Crown Princess is a working member of the Swedish Royal Family with her own agenda of official engagements and she holds a significant supportive role to her father. Victoria attends the regular Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs and the information councils with Government ministers headed by the King and steps in as a temporary regent (Riksföreståndare) when it is needed. Victoria also takes part in the regular official dinners hosted by King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, state visits to Sweden, high level and official visits from foreign dignitaries, the opening of the Riksdag (Parliament), celebrations of the Swedish National Day and the annual Nobel festivities.

The declaration of the Crown Princess's majority (coming of age) took place at a ceremony in the Hall of State at the Royal Palace of Stockholm on 14 July 1995, when she delivered her first speech to the Riksdag (Parliament).

The Crown Princess has made many official trips abroad as a representative of Sweden. Her first major, official visit on her own was to Japan in the autumn of 2001, where she promoted Swedish tourism, design, music, environmental sustainability and gastronomy during the "Swedish Style" event. That same year, Victoria also travelled to the west coast of the United States were she participated in the celebrations of the Nobel centenary.

Victoria has traveled extensively as representative for Sweden during her life. Some of the countries she has visited include Egypt, China, Brazil, Australia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Japan, Kosovo, Luxembourg, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy.

Victorias Day

In 2008 it's the thirtieth time the celebration takes place on the sportsarena of Borgholm. Our goal for this year is to gather all former candidates to participate!

We are looking forward to a new and exciting Victoriasday celebration and we are working hard to make the next years event as successful as this years event, with celebrities and top performers of sports!

This year the sailing ship "Tre Kronor af Stockholm", with focus on environment, will be a part of Victoriadagen. The Crownprincess Victoria is the godmother of the ship, which will arrive Borgholm's harbour on Juli 13, with reservation for the weather and tide.

I remember when I saw photos of Crown Princess Victorias father - now King Carl XVI Gustav - when he was a little boy running around with toys and a horse on Solliden. He also had four very pretty sisters that the photographers just loved.

Today I have read that Crown Princess Victoria and her Daniel Westling will be there this summer.

Prince Carl Philip was born on 13 of May 1979. His full name is Carl Philip Edmund Bertil Bernadotte.
1982 the royal family moved to Drottningholms castle

Carl Philip was born to be the crown prince of Sweden but a year after his birth the parliament changed the order of succession. The new law meant that the first born child, instead of the first born son, should inherit the heir to the throne. Thus, his older sister Victoria became crown princess and Carl Philip became prince.

Prince Carl Filip has started to race cars and he is good at it!

Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland, (Madeleine Thérèse Amélie Joséphine), born on June 10, 1982, is the youngest child and second daughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden.

Princess Madeleine is said to be an quite ordinary girl that do her shopping at H & M and IKEA like all of us do.

She has a boy friend Jonas Bergström so dont even think about it ;-D

. Today here are 840 different regional costumes identified in Sweden, 550 women's and 210 men's. Although the folk costumes differ from region to region and you can identify influences from many styles in each and every one. The little round hat or skull cap was popular in medieval times, just like the pixie cap and the tasselled garters that are so prominent in the Delsbo men's costume. Similarly the wide leather belts for men and women's belts with buckles all originate in the Middle Ages as did the hanging waist bags that were common before pockets were invented

Folke Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg (2 January 1895 - 17 September 1948), was a Swedish diplomat noted for his negotiation of the release of about 15,000 prisoners from German concentration camps during World War II. In 1945, he received a German surrender offer from Heinrich Himmler, though the offer was ultimately rejected.

After the war, Bernadotte was unanimously chosen by the victorious powers to be the United Nations Security Council mediator in the Arab-Israeli conflict of 1947-1948.
