THE ORIGIN OF THE NAME VICTORIA 

Victoria, is a name given to both females and males.

The female form of "Victor", this name has its origins in Roman mythology, particularly with the "goddess of Victory", (also known as "Nike" in Greek mythology).

According to Technorati.com, WTF (where's the fire?) is the name of the game these days in the wonderful world of weblogs, (all 55 million and counting). All one has to do is write a blooming or brilliant blurb (aka WTF) about a person, place or event worthy of being buzzed about.

For all the titillating trivia buffs out there, consider the fact that there are no less than 728,981 tag references to people, places or things named "Victoria". That's amazing, awesome, or perhaps awful, depending on whether one is the subject of a beautiful blurb or a bad one.

VICTORIAS-IN-VICTORIA ON "VICTORIA DAY" -- A BIG CELEBRATION! 

Victoria Day", is a statutory holiday in Canada, commemorating the birthday of Queen Victoria (of England and the former British Empire) and honoring the official birthday of the current reigning monarch of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, Queen Elizabeth II, (who is also Canada's official head of state).

It is celebrated on the first Monday on or before May 24th.

The City of Victoria, (capital of the province of British Columbia in Canada), whose namesake is Queen Victoria, honors "Victoria Day" each year by hosting a large parade featuring more than 150 marching bands and floats watched by more than 120,000 people.
