Make Videos From Pictures

Have you ever wondered how to make those professional movie trailer type slideshows .. you know the ones where they take a bunch of images and compile them into a movie preview with nice music.

You can use software like Windows Movie Maker or Imovie software to make a fairly decent picture slideshow however there is place where you can do this automatically ..

and as you will see the results are pretty astounding.

Forget carrying bulky video cameras around. All you need are a bunch of photographs that you have taken from your little pocket digital camera. Just load them into the software, pick a music track, add some text, press a button and bingo, you have just made a really superb professional video from your pictures.

After you have made your video you can link to it or embed it on your website. You can download it or you can send it straight to youtube from the application.

Want to see some demonstrations? Just scroll down and have a quick look at the videos I produced with this software. It really is so easy for anyone to do this. Just gather a bunch of pictures together load them into the software and let it do all the work...

Let's Take an Example...

You can use flickr, photobucket, picasaweb etc to load your photos into the software. You can also load pictures straight from your computer.

When you first log into the system you are presented with a button to "create movie". You are given the option of uploading your own or letting the application fetch from one of the photo sites. If you are using a photo site you need to have your photos in an album or a set.

In this example below I used some pictures I have of horses in a set at flickr. Here is a slideshow of some of the pictures I used from a flickr set.

The Resulting Video

A nice professional looking video just using pictures from my flickr account. The video took about 10 mins to make!

Try doing that in 10 mins in Windows Movie Maker or Imovie!!!

Some Points To Note

It seems that you get best quality if your pictures are of a pretty high resolution. If you have very small pictures then the resulting quality will be lower.

Once your pictures are loaded in the application you can then sort them by just dragging and dropping them. There is a little button called "Spotlight" if you use that you can click on a photo and it will highlight that photo a bit longer when it actually renders the video.

One minute of video is about 24 - 40 photographs. If you don't have enough photos when you import from your photo site you can manually add more from your own computer.

There is a text button that you just click to add text where you want it.

It's important to know that you video will last as long as

a) It takes to go through your photo show
b) The length of the song that you choose.

There are about 250 royalty free tracks of music but be careful with what you choose. The application will give you an estimated time that your video would last for. So say it was estimating that it would be 4 mins. You then have to choose a song that will last 4 mins or longer otherwise it will cut the video short.

You can upload your own music track if you want.

Once all that is done you just click the button to render the video. This can take a little while depending on how long the video lasts for.

Once the video has been rendered then it is saved in the application and you can go back and edit it and re render it at any time.

It's not complicated and once you log into your free account you will see that the whole thing walks you through every step. I did not even have to consult the faq or help once.

You Can Upload Direct To Youtube

Once you have made your video from your pictures you can upload directly to youtube from the application. You can download the video if you want to but there is a button in the application to load it directly to your account at youtube, What could be simpler?.

With the new widescreen format at youtube you can create really awesome slideshows and if you want, embed your picture video directly onto your website or blog.

Another Pictures to Video Example

This is one I made about my home town. I have not spent a lot of time doing these I just let the software do it's own thing. Every time you re render the video you get a slightly different look.

How To Make Videos From Pictures

Anyone can do this...

It's really is simple folks. You don't need to know anything about video software. Just upload your photos through the very simple interface. Add a music track (even upload your own) and let the software do the rest.

The best part is that you can do it for FREE. When you sign up you can make as many 30 sec clips as you want. If you want to make longer video from pictures movies then you will need to buy a yearly pass. But it's only $29 so it is not going to break the bank. The yearly pass version is the one that I have got and as you have seen it makes pretty good videos.

You can even take it a step further and buy a professional version. This enables you produce DVD quality videos and is of course a little more expensive.

If you want to make videos from pictures I think this is really worth taking a look at. I just love this software

PS. I was thinking on putting up some screenshots showing you exactly how to do it. However the interface is so simple to use that there is really no need to. If you sign up for a free account you will see what I mean
