There is a lot of speculation and even scientific research about the Laws of Attraction that are explained in many different books and movies about this human phenomenon. Some of the most important works published about the subject (and my personal favorites) are:

1. The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles (written in 1910)

The Basic Premises Of The Law Of Attraction

Here in a nutshell are the basic premises of the Law of Attraction taken from Wallace D Wattles book The Science of Getting Rich, but also repeated in various forms by everyone else who has ever written about this topic. I have paraphrased so bear with me here.

Premise #1: We are all connected to "thought" or "consciousness" of the Universe and in its original state it is unformed (Formless Substance).

Premise #2: When we think or imagine things, it is our thoughts that effect Formless Substance, we create those images into matter and bring them into our reality.

Premise #3: In order to "create" the things we want we must tap into our creative mind and form a clear mental image of what we want and hold that image in our mind.

Premise #4: Our intention to bring this mental image into our reality must be clear, focused and meditated upon daily.

Premise #5: When clues, people, opportunities and signs come to us that can lead us in the direction we are wanting to go, we must engage in "purposeful action" in order to facilitate the creation of what we are trying to manifest.

Premise #6: We must live in a state of gratitude and acceptance and we must make room in our lives for what we are trying to manifest.

So the role vision boards play in this process is that they help our puny imaginations focus on what we want to attract into our lives.

Video vision boards have become popular tools with people who are practicing the Law of Attraction that was described in the movie The Secret.
