The Fisher Price Little People Farm has come a long way
One of my favorite toys growing up as a child was this Fisher Price Farm. I cannot believe that the toy I played with that I loved so much is now in the Vintage category. I think my age is really starting to hit me. Now this toy has become a collectors item for most, but still played with and loved by many children who are lucky to have it.
Even though Fisher Price has changed this Little People Farm over the years - the original is still sought after and will always be my very favorite.

This is Me with my Fisher Price Farm from 1973
Me and my Farm
My memories of my childhood are not the best, but I do remember my farm and sitting and playing for hours. I believe this farm to have been made in the late 60's - I was born in the 70's and had this when I was a toddler. I have always had a love for animals and this farm had all your favorites you would find on the farm. You had your Horse, Cow, Rooster, Sheep, Chicken, Pig and do not forget the Dog. You can set the fence up anyway you liked it and the horse had a harness you could put on it so it could pull the wagon. Also when you opened the barn doors you would here a moo sound. I just loved everything about this.
When I was pregnant with my first child I was shopping at a local good will. I saw the Fisher Price Farm on the shelf - it was the original just like mine. It was only $2.00 and I thought how great it would be to have this for my own child. I did not have any money on me at the time and had to have this. I went to my car and scrapped up every coin on the floor of my car so I could buy it. I still have it to this day in the toy closet and it is now 12 years later. The only part that was missing is the silo. Both my kids have played with this over the years and it really made me smile to watch. It brought back so many happy memories for me.
