Collecting Vintage Advertising
Vintage Ads are fun to collect. I have been selling them since 1998 and the top reasons I see for collecting are:
(1) You are just crazy wild about some topic or brand. For example: electric cars (there were a bunch of them back in 1903) or Vernor's ginger ale. You can't live without possessing every ad published on your fave. I CAN HELP!
(2) That's my Poppa! I am amazed at how many folks family business or family members are in ads. At least once a week I get an email from someone saying that Great Aunt Maud (or Great Great Grandpa Maurice) is in my store. I tell them he/she can come home for a very reasonable price!
(3) Decorate! Vintage ads are framed and placed near the original item (lucky you may have a 1911 Knabe piano and my ad would look ever so lovely framed and placed on the wall behind the piano). Rennovate! Restoring that 1923 Chevrolet or a art deco bathroom? Nothing like the original ad to guide you.
