Collecting Vintage Postcards

Vintage Postcard Collecting is a fun hobby that anyone can do!

What to collect?

I bet that would be the first question someone might ask when thinking about taking up this fun hobby. My answer would be: Collect what you like!

There are postcard collectors that only collect Real Photo PostCards (RPPC). These are actual photos that were developed onto the postcard paper.

Some collectors like the Vintage Holiday Postcards. There are postcard for Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day, Birthdays and so on. The hardest ones to get and the more costly ones are the Halloween cards.

Postcards are also collected by places, like places you have visited, or where you might of lived. How about collecting your favorite animals or flowers.

Postcard collecting is a great hobby to do with kids. Some have a lot of information on the back that could help with a book report or presentation for school.

Storage for your Postcards

Storing a postcard collection is easy and can be done in a small space.

Postcard albums and binders are one way to keep your postcards safe. They have pages with one to four slots to slide in your favorite postcards. I keep my favorite postcards in an album, makes it easy to view them.

Another way is to keep them in boxes. There are boxes made especially for postcards and they stcak nicely. I keep mine in a postcard sleeve to protect the edges and corners from wear and then they go in the postcard box.

About muffybear

Hello. I love to scrapbook....I have been doing it for overĀ 35 years! I started with a simple scrapbook my mom gave me so that I could put all the newspaper clippings and photos of my dad in. At that time he was a pro golfer and was gone a lot. It gave me a way to see my dad and feel close to him.
