Virtual Weight Loss Model
We've created this virtual model for people who are in the process of losing weight and want to see what they might look like at different weights. It's based on body mass index (BMI) calculations. It will look different for people who weigh the same but are different heights.Aside from your personal height and weight, you can customize the dress, hair and skin colors. If enough people like it, we'll be adding more options, including a male version and more hairstyles, face shapes and clothing styles.
You can see your own model on your own personalized iGoogle homepage as well as being able to add it to your website sidebar. Google is now hosting the files so it will always load quickly on your site.

Virtual Weight Loss - An iPhone App
Update: August 2009We've added new features to the weight loss model and it's now available on the iPhone and iPod Touch as a weight loss app!
See your weight loss progress in a simple, visual way.
Customize the model with your current weight, goal weight, heaviest weight and your height.
The model is based on BMI calculations. So she will look different for females who are different heights but who weigh the same.
You can input your personal data in pounds or kilograms, inches or centimeters (and quickly convert between them).
You can customize your model's skin and hair color, shoe and dress color.
The app also records your daily weight change so you can keep track of your weight loss progress.

A Weight Loss Simulator
This weight loss virtual model was created by the developers at My Virtual Model Inc. It is featured on the Prevention.com website.This company employs about a hundred people and they have been setting the standard for virtual identity online since 2000.
Their virtual model is being used by leading retailers such as Sears, H&M, Adidas, Speedo and Levi Strauss & Co.
You can expect to see many innovations based on this virtual model in the near future. They plan to be a world leader in virtual identity, human 3D avatars, innovations in personalized shopping and believable 3D visualizations.

You know I'm always impressed at how far technology has come. There are systems that even allow one to choose their own body type & features, or upload a photo to make the model look like them. I'm sure women will definitely appreciate applications such as these, considering that they can potentially avoid those dressing room anxiety issues. Though not the most precise form of measuring a individuals exact body weight index, sometimes people need visual confirmation of what they might look like to keep them on track and focused.
Great lens. It covered a form of weight loss that I feel will eventually grow into a further complex and in-dept system of weight management. The only problem is that it didn't seem to allow men to be created, thereby alienating a group that could have benefited from its data
