Mountains
They vary in size and in volcanic activity. New Zealand is on a fault line which means there's an awful lot of movement underneath the country beneath the earths crust, this inevitably means movement above the earths crust and New Zealands volcanoes occasionally erupt or there are earthquakes, most of which are fairly minor and do no noticeable damage.

Some are even active volcanoes
Most importantly New Zealands mountains are incredibly beautiful. Check out these photos I found on Flickr.

Beaches
A few of my favourite beaches...
PIHA
Either side of Lion Rock at Piha, which is only an hours drive away from Auckland, are the two main beaches, both of which have black sand. Very strange when you first get there and very hot underfoot!
"Piha is New Zealand's most famous surf beach. Situated on the west coast of the North Island, 40 kilometers from the city of Auckland, this black iron-sand beach has a reputation for awesome surf."
quote from www.piha.co.nz
MISSION BAY
This beach is only a 10 minute drive from Auckland and well worth a visit to get out of the city!
It has some amazing fish and chip shops and some of the best ice-cream around. As well as that the beach has a fantastic view of a volcano out in the harbour.

Wildlife
Flora and Fauna of NZ
The flightless Kiwi bird is only found in New Zealand and is the national symbol of the country. It's rare to see one in the wild but there are a few wildlife reserves where you can even hold one.

Hectors Dolphin
Hector's Dolphins are extremely rare and the subspecies Maui, found in NZ is even rarer. It is possible to see them though off the coast of the South Island near Kaikoura.

Music of New Zealand
What Wikipedia has to say
New Zealand Music is very underrated around the rest of the world, but there are some fantastic bands over here.
Some of my favourites include Crowded House, Katchafire, Salmonella Dub, Bic Runga and Brooke Fraser.
The music of New Zealand is a vibrant expression of the culture of New Zealand. As the largest nation in Polynesia, New Zealand's music is influenced by the indigenous M?ori and immigrants from the Pacific region, though New Zealand's musical origins lie predominantly in British colonial history, with contributions from Europe and America. As the nation has grown and established its own culture, local artists have mixed these styles with local influences to create music that is uniquely New Zealand in style.
The most popular styles of the late twentieth century were rock and hip hop, both genres garnished with New Zealand's unique Pacific influences. By the twenty-first century, roots, reggae, dub and electronica were all popular with local artists. New Zealand has maintained a thriving alternative scene for several decades.
M?ori have also developed a popular music scene, and incorporated reggae, rock and roll and other influences: New Zealand reggae bands like Herbs, Katchafire and Fat Freddy's Drop are highly popular. The 1990s saw the rise of hip hop groups like Moana & the Moahunters and the Upper Hutt Posse, primarily based out of South Auckland (see below).
In the traditional styles, New Zealand's geographic isolation and cultural milieu perhaps contributed to the slow growth of formal traditions based on European classical music, however these styles have also gained broad recognition.
New Zealand Culture
For those who don't know, New Zealanders use their vowels in very odd ways.

There's a reason why Lord of The Rings was filmed here in New Zealand and that's because of the breathtaking scenery (and because the director was a Kiwi!!)The following places are some of the most famous from the Lord of The Rings Trilogy.
