Visual examples of subliminal messages

Subliminal messages have always been around. It is only in the past 30 years that more attention has been paid to them as a directive. Subliminal messages can be found almost anywhere in the media. The visual examples can be found in ads on TV, magazines, etc. They are certainly used as marketing tools.

The subconscious mind is that part of the mind that is the target for the subliminal message to work. Your conscious mind bases the visual input on logic. The subconscious mind takes it all in all of the time, then stores all of this information. When the sublimininal message is deliberate, the intent of the visual message is meant to bypass the conscious and go directly to the subconscious. Used properly, subliminal messages can be almost hypnotic.

Often times, the visual subliminal messages are not that subtle. Are you going to be more apt to buy a tanning product from an ad with a young teenage girl wearing a revealing swimsuit, or from a picture of a middle aged women lying outside in the back yard next to her kid's wadding pool?

How about the ad for milk? It shows a nice looking woman with a white milk mustache from drinking milk. She is smiling very provocatively. She might also be causing a lot of car accidents, with this milk ad on the billboards near the expressway entrance ramp.

If your aim is to begin to see some of the subtle ways that advertisers use subliminal messages in their TV ads, turn off the volume and see what is really happening.

The best ones are the car commercials. They spend a lot of time and money with their visual cues. The subliminal visuals within almost all car ads are trying to put you behind the wheel in the best setting for their market.

Many of the short TV ads will rely on the repetition of the text logos that are flashed on the screen for only a second. Your conscious mind may not have had time to absorb the impact but your subconscious mind sure did.

"Inside Edition" Subliminal McDonalds Ad Busted

My friend Eli is responsible for busting the Food Network/McDonalds subliminal advertisement wide open. Sorry for the shitty VHS but it was the best I could do when asked to record this at short notice.

Visual cues and subliminal messages are in every ad you see. Depending on the type of market the advertisers are trying to appeal to, you can count on several different props being used to induce the consumers. Quite simply, the subliminal visual cues work, otherwise they would not be used in almost everything that is marketed today.

I've always known this crap was around I just never knew how much. It discusses me to know that my four kids are subject to this without their or my consent. Quit screwing with peoples heads. This is why I call the SCREEN the brain sucker and take my kids to the bush. Corporations are weak but are we weaker? Don't know but there is a reason why everyone still loves McDonalds and Coke.

I thought this kind of subliminal advertising is banned. I watched a show a while ago about this and it barely works anyway you know... Even so, it wouldn't be nice at all to watch a show and suddenly develop an urge for buying all sorts of carappy stuff...
