Visual Arts Junction: We're in This Together
Welcome to Visual Arts Junction, where writers and photographers can forget about exclusivisms and dog-eat-dog mentalities. Here we join forces as we realize - we're not in competition, we're in this together.
All art fields are rough, even when the economy is strong. But if we band together we can succeed through anything.
Add to the knowledge of your craft by browsing our informative posts, or use the search bar, or sitemap. It always feels good to get prizes, so please join in our many Contests & Give Aways. We also offer Follow A Series where learning becomes an art. We've gathered thousands of Freebies & Links Archives to learn more than you thought possible about your writing and photography without spending a cent on that education. It's the largest archive on the net that we know of.
We are extremely proud of our VAJ Store , where you can purchase, not only our staff products, but everything we"ve found helpful to our arts, and the business of art. Our store sells exclusively products we've used ourselves and highly recommend, or have been used by trusted friends in the business. Scroll down the page sidebar to see our extensive Blog Roll for more leads to sites and people we recommend. Or just hang around and share, because, we're all in this together.
We are always adding more events, hoping to make the subscriber's experience deeper and more fun, and because we just plain like to have fun ourselves.
Be sure to enter our quaterly Visual Arts Junction Writing Contests . The winning entry is posted on the sites of our Panel of Judges , and our continually growing list of sponsors. So the winning entries will be read (so far), by thousands. We have professional and amateur categories, and winners also are interviewed live at Page Readers Radio with host Nanci Arvizu. Winners also receive several free books. it's a great time for everyone involved.
We run an occasional art raffle of one of my photographic art pieces, where you can become an art collector for $5.00. I particularly like our SpeakEasy pages where you can Introduce Yourself or join in one of the lively and timely discussions.
And of course there is always the vast array of Interviews by our staff that we have become known for, either in print or at Visual Arts Junction Radio .
Our blog marks a group of professional photographers and writers banded together to offer a one-stop resource site. We are a fun and active site, but most of all we exist to help our readers.
Our Staff includes lil ole me, Aggie Villanueva, Cindy Bauer, Helen Vanderbeek, (our resourceful techie behind the scenes), professional photographers Sarah Shoenfeld and Cheri Amour, and Carolyn Howard-Johnson, plus fabulous guest posts and blog tours. Each of the staff have at least one other blog, but come together to create Visual Arts Junction just for you.

- Donate Your Books to a Great Small-town Library in Cuba, NM | Visual Arts Junction
- The closest ?city? to me is the small village of Cuba, New Mexico. The community recently finished a 10 year battle to fund a library, which I visited today.
The librarian, Barb C. Trujillo, proudly showed me around the spanking new one-story building, with a line of new computers, and crisp rows of bookshelves, and even a children's corner, brightly carpeted to protect the heads of our precious future.
But the village is still trying to populate it with more books, and even a section of books about the Southwest and New Mexico, non fiction and fiction.
If you would like to donate a book or two of your own writing, or just books you no longer need, or books about the Southwest and New Mexico in particular, to the Cuba Public Library, here is the contact info. Just say Aggie sent you.
Please call beforehand and let Barbara C. Trujillo know to expect your book(s):
575-289-3100, or email her: cubalib2001@yahoo.com
Mail donated books to:
Cuba Public Library
P.O. Box 426 (if sent by US Post Office)
13 E. Cordova Ave. (if sent by UPS or FedEx)
Cuba, New Mexico 87013
Please contact me if you decide to donate so I can add you name to the list here: http://www.visualartsjunction.com/?p=7516
