Vitamin B Complex

Vitamin B Complex - Supplements containing all eight B vitamins are generally referred to as a vitamin B complex. Supplements that only contain one or more of the B vitamins carry their individual names (like i.e. Vitamin B-12).

The B vitamins are eight water-soluble vitamins that play an important role in the metabolisme of cells.

Vitamin B Complex and Bone Building

How can I support the way my body maintains healthy calcium levels?

Life Plus produces a nutritional supplement that supports healthy bone formation: Bone Builder

There are some important elements that may affect the way your body uses calcium. To help you get the most out of our supplements, we included synergistic compounds that prepare your body for proper calcium absorption and utilization. We've included ipriflavone, a leading edge nutrient only recently available, that promotes the healthy process of incorporating calcium into bone.

Also included is vanadium, which is a bone-seeking, ultra-trace mineral, folic acid, vitamin B-12 and a special metabolite of vitamin B-6, which all support healthy calcium and bone metabolism.

The Bone Builder formula also contains a highly absorbable form of calcium, as a calcium citrate / malate carbonate complex.

People of all ages should support healthy bones with regular exercise, and a healthy diet including sufficient calcium.

The B Vitamins

Here is a list of the eight B vitamins, they carry also different other names under which you might know them better. Especially Folic Acid is much better known under this name instead of vitamin B9:
  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)
  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
  • Vitamin B3, also Vitamin P or Vitamin PP (Niacin)
  • Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid)
  • Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)
  • Vitamin B7, also Vitamin H (Biotin)
  • Vitamin B9, also Vitamin M and Vitamin B-c (Folic acid)
  • Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin)

One mnemonic to remember the most commonly referenced B vitamins is "The (B1, Thiamine) Rhythm (B2, Riboflavin) Nearly (B3, Niacin) Proved (B6, Pyridoxine) Contagious (B12, Cobalamin)"
"The Rhythm Nearly Proved Contagious"

Sources of Vitamin B

Vitamin B can be obtained from a number of natural sources.

Vegetable and fruit, including potatoes, bananas, lentils, chilli peppers, tempeh.

Animal sources like liver oil, liver, turkey, and tuna.

Nutritional yeast (or brewer's yeast) and molasses are especially good sources of Vitamin B. That's great news for people who like to drink natural, unfiltered beers!
