Fatigue, Irritability, Depression, it's Not You... it's a Vitamin B12 Deficiency

Vitamin B12 is the under dog of the vitamin family. It doesn't get the same attention as other vitamins like vitamin C, D or E but did you know that B vitamins play an important role helping you live a longer, healthier and more energetic life?

For millions of people - almost 75% in North America and throughout the world - fatigue is an everyday reality. No matter what the primary complaint, over 80% of people visiting their doctor complain of fatigue. Beyond fatigue, lack of energy and focus robs you of the health and joy you deserve and were created to have.

Vitamin B-12 can give you the energy and focus you need to do the things you love - but it gives you so much more than just energy.

B Vitamins:

  • Boost your energy levels

  • Reduce the level of harmful homocysteine in your body

  • Lower your risk of heart disease and stroke

  • Combat depression and the blues

  • Diminish your risk of developing Alzheimer's Disease

  • Restore mental clarity and emotional balance

With all life's stresses these days, you may not be aware that you have a vitamin B12 deficiency. I know I wasn't.

Now, imagine doing one simple thing for yourself each day that could boost your energy levels, lower your risk of heart disease, stroke, and Alzheimer's. There's so much more that B12 can do to help you improve your health and well-being.

Forgetfulness, Irritability, Brain Fog and Mental Exhaustion can all be Helped with Vitamin B12

Dr. Scott Conard, M.D. (a national expert on disease prevention and founder of Tiena Health) says, "We've made major strides in recognizing and treating mental disorders, but there's still a lot more we can do to help protect against mental disorders. As a practicing physician, I see how my patients' mental health affects every aspect of their lives - especially the physical condition.

People with better brain health can more successfully cope with all of life's daily challenges. That's because a healthier brain makes it easier to develop healthy habits and lower stress. All this leads to living longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives."

Three essentials in today's on-the-go world are maintaining mental wellness, getting the help of others when you need it, and surrounding yourself with a supportive, healthy environment. Also spending time with family and loved ones and staying physically and mentally active are just a few ways to relieve stress and better handle everyday life.

As early as age 40, your body's ability to absorb B vitamins may decrease and you could be suffering from a vitamin B12 deficiency. This often results in brain fog or irritability. To treat these conditions, many people unfortunately turn to anti-depressants, but in the setting of a b12 deficiency, their effectiveness is questionable. I would suggest a much healthier alternative: Sublingual B-12, B-6 & Folic Acid.

Vitamin B-12... Nature's Feel-Good Vitamin

Vitamin B-12 has been called the "feel-good" vitamin because it may help you stay mentally focused and sharp, enjoy a more balanced mood and maintain higher energy levels. Vitamin B12 also helps symptoms associated with age-related brain diseases, including Alzheimer's disease.

Anyone who suffers from the following conditions may see long-lasting benefits from Sublingual B12:

  • Forgetfulness - do you have difficulty remembering simple things?

  • Irritability - do you get angry or frustrated by situations that wouldn't have bothered you before?

  • Brain Fog - do you have a "wooly" sensation in your brain that hampers clear thinking? Common symptoms of this condition include mental confusion, disorganized thoughts, or feeling like a cloud is literally surrounding you.

  • Mental Exhaustion - do you feel so stressed out that you find it harder to concentrate and stay focused?

You Ignore These Conditions at Your Own Risk

A vitamin B12 deficiency can cause feelings of detachment, discouragement and depression. And lower vitamin B12 levels could even appear as a severe psychiatric disorder resembling schizophrenia or clinical depression.

A long-term vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to brain shrinkage, where your brain suffers a loss of actual volume.

So, I would strongly recommend taking vitamin B12 supplements to protect against these conditions. However, vitamin B12 alone won't help you maintain long-lasting mental health. Here are a few additional suggestions for managing everyday stress to keep your brain more healthy:

  • Set manageable goals - this will give you more control over your life, so you'll feel less stress

  • Be realistic about tasks and deadlines

  • Prioritize your "to do" list, taking care of important tasks first, and eliminating less important ones

  • Take care of your body by living a healthy lifestyle

  • Limit your caffeine and alcohol intake

  • Balance work with play and get enough rest and exercise

  • Spend time with others - enjoying time with family and friends is important

  • Reach out to someone you haven't talked to for some time, or ask a friend or relative to join you with everyday activities. Engaging others in your life will help raise your spirits

Not All Vitamin B-12 Supplements are Created Equal

Did you know that vitamin B-12 is one of the most difficult vitamins for your body to absorb? This is because it must travel all the way down to your lower intestine before it can be absorbed where most of its nutrients are lost through waste.

Many vitamins are not bio-available; they just aren't absorbed easily by your body. When you swallow vitamin B12 supplements, much of their goodness is lost. Some studies show that on average, blood levels of B-12 increase by only 1.2% after passing through the digestive system.

There is a Better Way...

Now get the same benefits as a Vitamin B12 shot - without the expense and pain of an injection!

Doctors have relied on B12 shots for years to treat serious B-12 deficiencies. While most of the vitamin B-12 from large intramuscular doses is lost in the urine, injections have still traditionally been the best method of treatment. The shots, however, can be embarrassing, difficult to provide for some patients who are elderly or living alone, painful, and expensive if provided by a health care professional.

Sublingual B-12, B-6 & Folic Acid dissolves under your tongue, bypassing the digestive system altogether, and is instantly absorbed into the bloodstream for immediate use with energy, stamina, mental clarity and a level mood just minutes away.

Now you can get the same benefits as a B12 shot - without the expense and pain of an injection! In the past, B-12 options have been limited to highly ineffective oral tablets or painful and expensive injections. The key is the sublingual delivery method - which simply means that you put a great tasting, quickly dissolving tablet under your tongue where it can speed the vitamins directly into your system. Once there, they can quickly go to work fighting the potentially devastating effects of a vitamin b12 deficiency.

I just had a difficult time getting a diagnosis for B12 deficiency because the doctors aren't keeping up. I was nearly paralyzed. Thank goodness I sought a 'fifth' opinion from a qualified neurologist. Most MDs believe this is only effects older people and I was "too young" to have this. So, they didn't test for it. I found a doctor who would and now I have my legs back after a few months using self injections. Keep up the good work and thank you for helping to get this information out there!!
