VLC Media Player Download

The VLC media player was first developed in February 2001 by students at the Ecole Centrale Paris. While it is now developed by contributors worldwide, it has still retained the cone icon logo that was first used by the students of Ecole Central Paris. That icon used in the VLC media has evolved from a hand drawn cone used in its earlier versions to the more advanced CGI version today. The logo was used by the developers as a tribute to the traffic cones being collected by the Networking Students' Association of the same school.

A lot of modules have been added to the VLC media player over the years. In fact, the latest version now has used approximately 360 modules.

To start using the VLC media player after downloading the software, you just have to double click the VLCPortable.exe file in the location where you downloaded the file. Then you are ready to use it. It is that simple.

The only known issue with the VLC media player is that the skin you may have customized for your media player is not remembered between sessions, like after you restart your computer. Most people do not even know that you can customize the skins of their VLC media player anyway so I guess this will be a minor issue for most people.
