Meet The Voca People
In their own words: "The Voca people are 8 friendly aliens from the planet Voca, a musical planet that has no verbal communication but use vocal expressions only. They have heard the music from earth for decades now and with their imitation abilities they have decided to pay a one evening tribute to humanity and to perform the songs they love as musical- gratitude."
Frankly, I think they're stretching it a bit about the planet Voca (who's heard of that place?), but their performances do pay wonderful homage to great music that everyone recognizes here on planet Earth.
Actually based in Israel, The Voca People group consists of five men and three women with amazing voices. They use those voices in a phenomanal a cappella method, creating not just music but vocals that imitate the sounds of drums and other musical instruments, creating an awesome blended sound in a humorous and entertaining way. In other words, they put on a great show for their very appreciative audiences.
Browse on through the page, watch their video and let us know what you think of The Voca People in the poll and/or in the guestbook below.

What does "a cappella" mean?
Get the scoop from Wikipedia.
A cappella (ItalianWilliam C. Holmes. "A cappella." Grove Music Online. Oxford Music Online. 21 Sep. 2008 . for From the chapel/choir) music is vocal music or singing without instrumental accompaniment, or a piece intended to be performed in this way. A cappella was originally intended to differentiate between Renaissance polyphony and Baroque concertato style. In the 19th century a renewed interest in Renaissance polyphony coupled with an ignorance of the fact that vocal parts were often doubled by instrumentalists led to the term coming to mean unaccompanied vocal music. In modern usage, a cappella often refers to an all-vocal performance of any style, including barbershop, doo wop, and modern pop/rock. Today, a cappella also includes sample/loop "vocal only" productions by producers like Jimmy Spice Curry, Teddy Riley, Wyclef, and others.

- I love the Vocapeople. All of my bffs were the Vocapeople in our school talent show and I was the director/helper. It was by far the best and most creative preformance that we had witnessed in a long time and everyone watching the talent show loved it. If you are reading this I thing you should try to do it yourself, or tell your children. It's fun!

- I love good a cappella singing. The Voca People are really good! Have you heard Rockapella? I've liked them ever since they used to be on "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" I took my family to see them when they were in Bellingham. Everyone loved them!
