- I discovered this French band through MySpace. Their page includes links to three full MP3 songs, and I'm eager to hear more. The beautiful voice of Alexandra Bernard is definitely a highlight.

- Epica features the powerful, but beautiful voice of Simone Simons and the wonderfully intense voice of Mark Jansen.
- Evanescence
- Don't let the mainstream popularity of this band scare you away. The new CD is fantastic, and Amy Lee's voice is spectacular.
- The Gathering
- This is a spectacular band from the Netherlands, featuring the amazing vocals of Anneke van Giersbergen.
- Lacuna Coil
- Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro share the vocals in this spectacular band from Italy. The combination of his rough and her smooth vocals are wonderful.
- Leaves' Eyes
- Liv Kristine Espenæs Krull and her husband, Alexander Krull, share the vocal duties beautifully. She has the sweet voice of an angel and he has the heavy vocals to perfectly complement her.
- The Mary Major
- Born from the ashes of Beseech, this band features beautiful female vocals from Lotta Hoglin and male vocals from Erik Molarin.
- Octavia Sperati
- I discovered this band on MySpace and loved the sound immediately. Octavia are an amazing (mostly) female band from Norway which features powerful vocals from Silje Wergeland.
- Within Temptation
- The music is beautiful and dark and the voice of Sharon den Adel is haunting. Definitely take a listen.

If you love strong female voices in Metal then you have to check out Susan Wendelken of the all-female band Dormitory Effect (New York). www.myspace.com/dormitoryeffect. She is held in high regard by a Grammy-nominated artist, by reviewers and her peers alike. I was very impressed!
