Welcome to the 2009 Giant Squid Awards! We've hand picked over 100 Giants in 22 Categories for you to vote on along with "Best About Me" and "Best Potential Giant Squid Lens of the Year".
Now sit back, relax and take a look at these fabulous lenses. I know it's going to be hard to decide because all these lenses are truly amazing...but there can only be one winner per category. So get ready, get set, start VOTING...once per category, please!
PS - Everyone can vote! So blog, e-mail, create a lens and get creative about getting votes for yourself and your favorite lenses.

The 2009 Giant Squid Awards are sponsored by your Giant Squid Organizers, Bonnie & Robin who spend every day with their sleeves rolled up, looking at lenses and interacting with fellow Giants.They picked a diverse group of lenses that were awarded Purple Stars in 2009. These choices were not based on lensrank or algorithms or even on bribery, but based on a recipe of content, generosity, creativity and usefulness.
Voting for the Giant Squid Awards ends on Sunday December 20, 2009 at midnight est.
Winners will be announced Tuesday December 22, 2009.

- I feel just blessed--Tipi just let me know a little while ago that nonmembers can vote (sisters) and boy have I had fun! There are some really hard choices here and I wish I could have voted for everyone! I can feel the anticipation in the air! I love the countdown clock--how exciting! I wish I would have had time to visit more nominees but I have to move on to finish some baking projects. Thank you for opening this to nonmembers--what a nice surprise!
