In Voyage Century, Sea battles will consist of three
basic types of fighting or a combination of all if you like.

Canon Firing:
VoyageCentury has several cannon styles that you can outfit your ship with, each having specific advantages and drawbacks.

How many cannons you have on your ship and the types of those cannons is directly related to how you chose to play the game and how you choose to build your ship.

Ramming:
Ramming is the art of using the sheer physical size and momentum of your boat to deliver a powerful blow to an opponents hull. Often this method is used in a prelude to grappling.

Grappling:
Grappling is the use of grappling hooks or other devices such as flame thrower catapults, flares, or smoke screens to either board the enemy ship, deal damage to sailors and sails, raise your accuracy, or lower their accuracy. You have to be in close proximity to the enemy ship in order to grapple.

So what do you get from sea battling in Voyage Century?

The spoils of victor, of course! That's not all though, naval battles will also increase your reputation with the various countries and factions in the game as well as increasing your ship military equipment level.

Voyage Century also features an in-depth land battle system. Land battle consists of four different styles.

Sword-Play (Fencing)

Falchion (Saber) Fighting

Axe Fighting

Shooting (Musket or Rifle)

Each of these different styles have different advantages/disadvantages. Choose what best fits your play style!

Note: You can learn all of these skills but eventually you'll want to choose one to master.

So what do I get from land battles?

Land battles will increase your fighting skill with whatever weapon you chose to fight with. As you gain experience with a weapon you will be able to learn new skills as well as titles!

Beyond that, land battle will net you important resources that you can use in your professions.

Note: Land battle is a very important skill if you wish to explore unknown islands and discover new types of creatures the world has never seen before!

Voyage Century has a unique and very well done crafting system. As you become a better crafter, all the items that you create will reflect that, even low level items.

The Trades:

Timber Felling (Lumberjack)

Mining (Ore Gathering)

Planting (Growing and Harvesting Crops)

Ship-Building (Ship Repair, Enhancements)

Foundry (Blacksmithing)

Alchemy (Potions, Buffs, Healing)

Sewing (Tailoring, Clothing Repair)

Learning and developing tradeskills is a great way to earn money in VoyageCentury.

Exploration of the new world is a benefit to everyone.

You will be able to search the high seas, lonely islands, mysterious tombs, jungles, and cities for new discoveries.

As you discover new animal life, locations, and artifacts your discovery logbook will keep track of your findings.

Note: You'll be required to bring back some proof of your discoveries!

So what do I get for being an explorer?

Fame! Your reputation will be boosted with each new discovery you authenticate, allowing you access to new titles and ranks.

Fortune! Society rewards those brave explorers who bring back logs of new discoveries.

Experience! Your ship's maneuverability experience will increase when you discover something new.

For those of us with a hunger to face off and test our skills in glorious PVP, VoyageCentury will deliver.

As you level up and progress in the game you'll notice you have an option to attack other players. This level distinction makes it safe for new people to enjoy the game freely. Be warned, you won't be safe forever!

PVP in Voyage Century can take place on land or sea, but not without it's consequence.

Attacking another player will put you at odds with the world, and you will be actively hunted down almost everywhere you go.

You'll only be able to enter major cities at night,
(pirate cities you belong to will welcome you however) and if your caught you'll have to try and bribe the guards (a hefty price) or you'll be sent off to jail.

If you find yourself in jail, you'll have three options to get out:

Wait out your sentence.

Gamble with the guards for a shorter sentence.

Break out! Find a way into the sewers, and fight your way through to the surface.

Role playing comes naturally and effortlessly in VC, you'll find it easy to fall into role playing your character whether you're a role-player at heart or have never role-played in your life.

The beautiful scenery, calming music, and diverse assortment of clothing makes it easy to slip into a world far far away.

While there are three main ship types in VoyageCentury you can customize them as you see fit, or even rebuild them to another type if you find your current one is not to your liking.

The Battleship:
The king of the seas, the massive battleships support the most cannons and hull armor. These ships are forces to be reckoned with.

If you chose to make your ship into a battleship, you'll gain most of your experience through battling on the high seas and assaulting dangerous pirate cities, and hunting grounds.

The Merchant Ship:
Some of the biggest, most majestic ships in the game. If it's money your after, a merchanting you will go.

Merchant ships will gain the majority of their experience from trading and delivering goods between different ports of the world. Often keeping an eye on hot products and trends in major cities around the world.

The Adventurer Ship:
The sleek and speedy adventurer ships house the largest number of sailors to both keep their ship running full tilt at all times and to send parties of brave adventurers on expeditions to search out new findings in the world.

As an adventure ship you will be gaining most of your experience from cataloging new discoveries, and hunting rare treasures.

Also due to their fast speed, adventure ships are routinely selected as advance scouts or pilots for large fleets of slower moving ships.
