What is a V-Slicer Mandolin?
Being a foodie who loves to cook I have amazingly few kitchen gadget in my kitchen, in fact it often feels like I have to fight for keeping them out. Friends believe that I love all kind of odd and the newest gadget in my kitchen. Far from it, it takes away my focus and I also forget that I have them.
So what do I have in my kitchen apart from pot & pans?
- Hand Blender
- Professional Blender
- V-Slicer Mandolin
Yes that is it - I don't need anything else.
This lens will be about the V-slicer and how to use it.
Why I %u2665 the V-Slicer
The reason I like this model is because it is easy to clean, slides into a nice storage container, and includes several safety features, so you won't cut yourself.
It is 10 years old and the blade is as sharp as the day I purchased it. That is what good German steel will do for you. It has saved me more time than all the other tools combined in the kitchen.
The design is very simple and versatile - complete with 3 different blade cartridges - and not a lot of moving parts to worry with.
I love it!
... and not to mention that to make French Fries is fast !!!
So what do I use the V-Slicer for?
- Fruit salads
- Coleslaw
- Soups (Julienne )
- Casseroles
- Salads
- Desserts
- Cheese Sticks
I probably use it for more meals, this is what I can remember right now...

- I have a mandoline slicer that I just love. I also really use my "tomato knife" a great deal. I am a real cut-up in the kitchen! LOL
