Wachapreague is a small town on the eastern shore of Virginia. The town is known best for its excellent fishing. Marinas and ramps in town give fishermen easy access to the creek which runs to the Atlantic Coast.
Fishermen come to Wachapreague almost year round, In early spring, a flounder fun occurs with some of the largest fish of the season being caught. At the same time the ocean waters yield tautog, and eventually black sea bass. As spring continues, red and black drum arrive inside the inlet. By summer tuna, marlin, mahi mahi and wahoo migrate off the coast and are caught from charter boats and by private anglers.
