Fishermen come to Wachapreague almost year round, In early spring, a flounder fun occurs with some of the largest fish of the season being caught. At the same time the ocean waters yield tautog, and eventually black sea bass. As spring continues, red and black drum arrive inside the inlet. By summer tuna, marlin, mahi mahi and wahoo migrate off the coast and are caught from charter boats and by private anglers.
