Join My Son and I For a Walk on Our Country Road
Inspired by poddy's beautiful lens about his daily walk 'round his neighborhood in Deer Creek, Florida, we headed out so you could get a glimpse into our country life.
If you are a city dweller what you are going to see here is serene; not one car drove past, as we were wandering around the river bed a neighbor on the other side waved a big hello, and we took a moment of peaceful thought to soak in the realization of our fortunate circumstance.
Enjoy the view that my camera captured of our very blessed lives!

Yes, We Live on a Gravel Road
We hit pavement at about one mile from our place
Wearing the right shoes is important if you are going to venture out on our country road. Flip flops are for the garden...sneakers or a good pair of hiking boots are a must for comfort and safety. If we are heading down to the river we carry our water shoes with us...nothing worse then sloshing back home in wet sneakers or boots :O
Ahh...the Joys of Country Living
Each of these, plus more make it all worth while

Beautiful lens, Correen. I love Washington, but also love Montana. We live in a city, but get into the woods as often as possible.

I defer to Steve McQueen's appropriate comment when asked the same question: "I'd rather wake up in the middle of nowhere... than in any city on earth!" We actually have the best of all worlds here in the foothills of SC... being just off the beaten path of I-85 & 2hrs from Atlanta & 2hrs from Charlotte...plus 15 minutes to Lake Hartwell, 45 minutes to the mountains and 4&1/2 hrs to the coast. Voila... I love living in this country!

Oh my gosh, if I had to live in the city with PEOPLE, I would DIE. People are weird and I like to live in my own little corner of the world, so BACK OFF HUMANS! lol :)

Oh it has to be the country but we have the best of both worlds. Ten minutes walk to the woods and fields and 25 minutes walk to the town centre!
Only a couple of hours ago we were watching a Red Kite (the bird version!) soaring above our house.

I grew up in the country, then worked in the city. Now I'm back in the country to stay. Fresh air, trees, flowers, animals and birds all around and you can't see your neighbor's house. That's the way to live.

City Living

I am a city girl myself. I don't think that I could live in the country for too long.

I have a bit of both. I live in a small city on Vancouver Island but it is in a valley surrounded by mountains & timber. Our subdivision is a block from the country where there is a creek and farmland. However, Starbucks & Walmart are both a 10 min walk in the other direction.

Heading Back Home From the River
No that is not our trailer in the distance ;)
Rounding the Corner to Head Up Our Driveway
The old white truck is my husband's project :O

As we head up the driveway, my camera captures the beautiful greens, the wood waiting to heat our home next winter...and then we meet the neighbors cow's! Ari, the puppy decided he had to challenge with his puppy bravado, Smidge is simply watching the scene, and papa Buba was there to make sure all were safe.
Our Home in the Country
In the middle of no where
We are so fortunate to have this little slice of heaven...just under 5 acres. Behind our house there are thousands of acres of Weyerhaeuser Property, venturing a guess we will not have any housing development in the near future!

- This was an awesome lens, it is nice to know that people think the same way my parents and I do about living in the middle of no where. Thanks for the encouraging lens!
