New Text / Write module

Home is where your books are. If you are a book lover you probably don't give them away once you've finished reading them. And so before you know it you've got more books than you have space to keep them. Your bookshelves are stacked double deep, and the books are getting covered in dust. Time for more bookshelves!

How to Choose Your Bookshelf
To start with, ask yourself these questions:

What type of books do you want to display on the shelves? (paperbacks, oversized, legal books etc)
Who are the bookshelves intended for?
Where are you planning to put the bookshelves?
How much of a bookshelf will be filled with books, and how much will be left for knick knacks and other things?

So once you've answered these questions, how do you know which kind of bookshelf is right for you? There are many types of bookshelves available, so we've worked out a guide to help you figure out which type of bookshelf is good for each type of use. For each bookshelf style we'll tell you about:

What kind of displays work best (what kind of books, ornaments and pictures etc.)
The advantages and disadvantages of each style
Book arrangements and display ideas
How to understand bookshelf specifications (materials, dimensions and more)

Bookshelf Types

Corner Bookshelves can turn your unused corner into an attractive space for displaying your books, collections and treasures.

Dormitory Bookshelves are a great idea for student dorms and apartments. These are bookshelves designed for anyone who isn't living permanently in any one location and moves around a lot.

Built-In Bookcases require the most thought and planning before you buy ( and can also be very expensive) but once finished will offer the greatest amount of useable shelf space.

Ladder Bookshelves are sleek, free-standing units that also work well as decorative furniture and are available in many colors and sizes.

Wall Bookshelves are essentially a hybrid of some of the best features of all the other kinds of bookshelves. They allow you to utilize unused wall space, are super easy to install, they offer a good amount of shelf space and look great while doing it. And the fact that you can pick one up for a fraction of what a built in bookshelf would cost you makes them all that much more attractive.

With these things in mind you want to choose a type of bookshelf that will best fit your needs.

For example:
If your low on space you wouldn't want to go with a built in bookcase because they take up to much space. But if you have a few special books that you want up on display you should consider a wall shelf or corner shelf because these bookshelves will bring the most attention to you're books.
