The Magic of Disney World in Pictures

Walt Disney World is one of the most photographed and visited landmarks in the world. Walt Disney's vision of the ultimate theme park has captured the imagination of young and old for almost 40 years. The sad irony is that Walt Disney himself never saw it as he died in 1967 before the park was opened.

Disneyland had opened in 1955 but Walt had even bigger plans. In 1965 he began secretly purchasing land in Florida and set out to make his vision of Disney World become a reality.

"I'm doing this because I want to do it better" Walt said about why he was determined to build Disney World.

So join me browsing through a collection of some wonderful Disney World pictures - I have picked ones which I think capture the magic of the place. And see the words of Walt Disney himself about his vision and motivation to build the Most Magical Place on Earth. You can even vote on which ones are your favorites!

And for the final picture here is your chance to create your own caption - can you capture the Disney World magic?
