Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
There are 5 different categories of resorts located on Walt Disney World property. Staying at a Disney owned resort will give you certain perks over someone opting to stay at a non-Disney resort. Staying on site is know as "on property" or "in the bubble".
The three main classifications of Walt Disney World resorts are: Value, Moderate and Deluxe. The other two type of resort accomodations are Disney Vacation Clud resorts and Ft. Wilderness Cabins and Campsites. Some of the perks available to guest staying on property include Extra Magic Hours, Disney's Magical Express, free parking and charging privelliges throughout the entire resort.
Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts
Disney Deluxe Hotels
There are eight Deluxe resorts located at Walt Disney World. They include Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge and Yacht Club. Animal Kingdom Lodge is the largest at 1293 rooms and the Boardwalk Inn is the smallest at 372 rooms.
Closest to Magic Kingdom on the monorail loop are Contemporary, Grand Floridian and Polynesian. They can also access Epcot by a monoral transfer at the TTC (Ticket and Transportation Center). Also Close to Magic Kingdown is Wilderness Lodge which is a short boat ride away. Closer to Epcot and Disney Studios are Beach Club, Boardwalk and Yacht Club. They are a short walk or boat ride to either park. Animal Kingdom Lodge is near Animal Kingdom. All resorts also have bus access to each of the four theme parks. All transportation is provided free of charge.

Walt Disney World Moderate Resorts
Disney Moderate Hotels
There are four Moderate resorts located at Walt Disney World. They include Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside. The largest, Port Orleans Riverside has 2048 rooms and the smallest, Port Orleans French Quarter has 1008 rooms. Transportation to all theme parks and Downtown Disney is provided by bus free of charge. Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orlean Riverside both also offer boat service to Downtown Disney.
Walt Disney World Value Resorts
Disney Value Hotels
There are four Value resorts located at Walt Disney world. They include All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, All-Star Sports and Pop Century. The largest, Pop Century has 2880 rooms and each of the tree All-Star resorts have 1920 rooms. Transportation is provided between all the Value resorts to the theme parks and Downtown Disney by bus free of charge.
Disney Vacation Club Resorts At Walt Disney World
DVC - Disney Vacation Club
The Disney Vacation Club resorts located at Walt Disney World are Animal Kingdom Lodge (new), Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs and Villas at Wilderness Lodge. All Disney Vacation Club resort units are sold through a timeshare program operated by Disney. If available you are able to rent them out like any other Disney resort hotel. Studio rooms at these resorts provide a partial kitchen. A microwave, wet bar and mini-fridge are included. Most other rooms provide a full kitchen with cooking and eating utensils.
Saratoga Springs is the largest at 840 rooms and the smallest is the Wilderness Lodge at just 181 rooms. Wilderness Lodge is closest to Magic Kingdom, just a short boat ride away. Close to Epcot and Disney Studios are Beach Club Villas and Boardwalk Villas. Both parks reachable by foot or a short boat ride. All DVC resorts offer bus transportation to all parks. As usual, all transportation is provided by Disney for no charge.

Walt Disney World Ft. Wilderness Cabins and Campsites
At Ft. Wilderness there are 409 cabins and 788 campsites. The cabins sleep 6 and provide you a full kitchen and basic cooking and eating utensils. Different classification of campsites give you different services. Partial hookup sites give you water and electricity. Full hookup sites give you water, electricity and sewer. Preferred sites offer water, electricity, sewer and cable TV. All campsites offer you a picnic table and charcoal grill.
2007 Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Rates
Hotel and Resort rates at Walt Disney World vary greatly depending on the "season" you visit. Value season is the least expensive time to go and Holiday season is the most expensive. I will give you the range of rates you can expect to pay for a standard room.
Rates for Value resorts range from $82 to $129 per night. For Moderate resorts the rate ranges from $145 to $199per night. For Deluxe resorts you can expect to pay between $215 and $579 per night. Disney Vacation Club resorts will set you back from $279 to $475 per night. Ft. Wildernes Cabins range from $249 to $365 per night and the Campsites from $41 to $78 for a partial hookup.
