Walton On Thames

For the history buff you can visit Hampton Court, previous residence of Henry VIII and a very well preserved historical building which includes an outdoor maze. This is on the bank of the Thames and includes extensive gardens.

If you are more energetic or have teenage children there are many theme parks in the area. Chessington world of adventures, Thorpe Park and Legoland are all within 20 minutes car drive.

If you want to travel further afield the area is blessed with motorway connections, easy and rail access to London and close proximity to the Eurostar connection to Paris and Brussels.

Housing in the area is a very expensive and it is attractive also having a low crime rate. Most residents commute into central London each day where a 25 minute rail journey takes you to the Waterloo rail terminal and easy access to central London. This means that high London salaries are readily accessible increasing the spending power in the local community.

These days that London is a multicultural community with many foreign institutions and this is reflected in the mix of the local community with the most populous non-English residents being South African.

The active gardener is also a well taken care of in the Walton on Thames. A short drive away is the famous Wisley Gardens home of the Royal horticultural Society with its fabulous flower displays.

Also nearby are several National Trust properties such as Claremont Gardens with a huge natural amphitheatre which hosts outdoor concerts each year.
