Harry Potter's Wand - Holly with Phoenix Feather Core

Harry buys his wand for seven Galleons from Ollivanders in Diagon Alley. Mr Ollivander first takes Harry's measurements and then gets him to try a few wands out - first a beechwood and dragon heartstring, then a maple and phoenix feather, ebony and unicorn hair, and several others, before Mr Ollivander hands him the holly wand with phoenix tail feather core that will become his wand.

The phoenix tail feather in Harry's wand comes from Fawkes, who donated a second feather which makes up the core of Lord Voldemort's wand. This relation produces a spell called the Priori Incantatem when the two wands oppose each other.

Later on in Harry's life, his wand shows that it has the ability to learn magic, just like the wizard himself! Who wouldn't find it useful to have a wand that can help you out of a sticky situation?

Here's an excuse to put your creative craft skills to use. Make a cool Harry Potter wand...

Make a Harry Potter wand

Harry Potter Wand(Children should be assisted with using wood stain and varnish.)

Find a fairly straight stick, with one or two knots for effect, and sand it well with fine sandpaper.

Stain with dark wood stain and add some silver paint to the tip if you wish.

Varnish and allow to dry according to the varnish manufacturer's instructions.

You may want to sand down the dried varnish with an ultra-fine sandpaper and add a second and third layer of varnish to give an extra gleam and polish to the wand.

Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans
Don't go hungry!

Official Harry Potter Candy with printed collectible cloth bag contains Jelly Belly's recreation of the beans made famous in the Harry Potter films and books. Every bag of Harry Potter Candy is a treasure hunt of new and unusual flavors including Grass, Black Pepper, Sardine, Booger, Ear Wax, Dirt and believe it or not Vomit! Be warned these flavours are shockingly realistic. The disgusting flavours are mixed among some more traditional Jelly Belly flavours like Bubble Gum, Blueberry, Buttered Popcorn, Cotton Candy and more.

Buy one bag to try (if you're brave enough!) and another to keep unopened as a collectors item. In a few years they may be very valuable among collectors.
