All players start at level 1 and as they proceed through the game, completing quests, their experience increases and raises their level. With a higher level, you are offered more opportunities and it becomes easier to advance. You are able to get more gold and other players will see you as more valuable and want to form alliances with you.

Levels 1-60 are included in the main World of Warcraft game. Levels 61-70 are found in The Burning Crusade expansion pack. Blizzard is planning a new release called Wrath of the Lich King, which will take you to level 80 (including a new Inscription profession), however the release date is yet to be announced.

Completing quests will help you to level up. If you want to level up more quickly, it's best to have good gear. This will make it so that you're attacks will cause more damage to your enemy, while their attacks will cause less harm to you.

There are many guides available while will tell you how to quickly level up for whatever race and class you have chosen.

As in real life, it's important to get gold so that you can afford the things that you want to buy. When you have gold you can buy:

* New spells. Spells are greatly needed in World of Warcraft. They can help you attack or defend. They can even help feed you.
* Potions. Potions can be made to help with healing, make you invisible, or make you stronger.
* Gear. Obviously, if you have good weapons you will be able to do more damage when you attack your enemies. Likewise, if you have better armor, then you will be well protected.
* Horses. Horses can help you to travel faster.

The more supplies you have, the faster you will be able to level up in the game.

These are just a few of the things that you can do with your gold. Obviously, there are many more reasons why you would want gold. Having gold enables you to proceed more quickly through the game.

There are many different ways that you can get gold while playing World of Warcraft. For example, you can battle other players for gold.

Some people prefer a more peaceful approach. They can gather things that they can later sell. For example, many plants are needed to create potions. A smart player will find a location where there are many of these and collect them. They can then sell them at the auction house. If you use this method, you may be able to find regular buyers as well. Some characters are in constant need of certain supplies.

Players who have a strong profession such as leatherworking or blacksmithing are able to sell their wares. As they become more skilled at these professions, the price of their wares increases.

You can also occasionally buy items for a low price and sell them higher at the auction house. This method is becoming more common though and it's difficult to carry out. Plugins such as Auctioneer have been created to help people with this.

If you want, you can try to control a market. To do this, you have to buy up all of a particular item. When you own most of it, you can then raise the price, and keeping the profit. People notice that this is happening though, and you won't make very many friends this way.

Perhaps the best way to get gold in World of Warcraft is to farm it. Farming gold means repeatedly completing a task so that you can collect items.

If you want to farm gold in WoW, then you have to find a task that you think is easy and repeat it several times.

One good way to do this is to go to the area of Felwood. In this area, there are some beasts called Withered Protectors. When you kill a Withered Protector, he's likely to drop a high level herb. When you have several of these herbs, then you can sell them at the auction house, usually for at least 20g.

Another good area to farm gold is in the Scarlet City in the North Western Plaugelands. Here there are characters called Scarlet Priests. They are considered elites, but they can still be killed quite easily. Once you kill them, they will drop rune cloths. These are not common and you can sell them for a high price.

There are many other areas like this where it's easy to farm gold. The best thing to do is to purchase a guide that can tell you all of the places where gold can be farmed.
