Needleworkers For a Warmer World - Yes We Can!

Sometimes when we see injustice and suffering in the world we find ourselves wishing we had the time, energy or resources to help. We feel as if there ought to be something...some one thing we could do to make a difference.

If you are a needleworker (crochet, knitting, sewing, quilting) and you want to make a difference, you can. Even if you don't have a lot of time. Even if you don't have the money for materials, even if you don't get around as well as you used to, you can make a positive difference in many lives.

Let's face it. We live in uncertain times, but if each of us gets out there and does even one thing that helps another, together that adds up and everyone wins.

What I propose is an alliance of needleworkers from all crafts to join together and partner with organizations that are already out there to lend our skills and our hearts to causes we might not have the resources ourselves to donate to otherwise.

This lens is how we can make it happen...Yes we can!

You Can Make a Difference

Give a Hand Up Instead of a Handout

The KIVA organization allows you to help a person in need create a business that will allow them to bring themselves up out of poverty. You can make a difference with loans as little as $25. Over 98% of the loans are repaid, at which time you can loan the money out to a new person and help them. For less than what it costs to go to a movie, you can help someone go beyond survival.

Take the time to visit the KIVA site to find out more

Kiva is the world's first online lending platform connecting online lenders to entrepreneurs across the globe. Make a loan to an entrepreneur in the developing world for as little as $25.

We at Squidoo passionately believe in creating new ways to support good causes online. By making a donation to KIVA from this page, you are sending money directly to that organization, in whatever amount you want. We don't touch it. We don't even see it. The author of this page doesn't either. And if you made it this far, thanks for caring.
