A Wrist Watch Cell Phone: Smaller and Even More Portable and Secure?
Cell phone wrist watches emerged on the market some time ago and are increasing in their usefulness. Now major manufacturers are entering the picture. LG has announced a model and Samsung recently showcased a prototype. These phones offer a bit of added security and portability, and may be the future of the ever shrinking cell phone.
You can learn more about what is currently available and what's on the near horizon on this page. You can even see a video review that demonstrates a touchscreen, bluetooth enabled wrist watch cell phone.
The Good and the Bad
For those involved in sports, they also offer some clear advantages as far as portability and security. Certainly armbands and such can be purchased for other cell phones but wrist watches can still be preferred in some instances, particularly if you also happen to find a model that's waterproof.
While small size is a positive attribute for many it can also be one of the drawbacks of these devices. Any QWERTY keyboard or touch screen on a wrist watch cell phone is bound to be quite small. They aren't the ultimate text messaging tool for this reason in many instances. On a side note however, don't think that most of the current models are small as compared to the average wrist watch. They aren't, and in fact as compared to most watches they tend to be a bit bulky.
The wrist watch cell phones that we share on this page are only the ones that have received some positive customer reviews. You can see those reviews when you read more on any of the individual items.
Choosing a Cell Phone Wrist Watch
Some of these devices do provide Bluetooth capabilities, a quality camera and more. Some offer a QWERTY keyboard and others a touch screen. Bluetooth, speakerphone functions and such are certainly important features if you don't want to be talking directly into your wrist or holding it up to your ear.
Usability is probably of prime concern based on the reduced size of a wrist watch cell phone. Whether you can find one at the store to put hands on prior to buying or if it can be purchased with a no risk return policy within a certain period of time can be useful to assure the device is one you're comfortable in using. Of course reading the reviews of current users can also help in this respect.
A durability feature to consider might include a scratch resistant face since it will be exposed and for some users, a waterproof model might also be desirable.

- The size is very important to me Sound quality is a must. I have found that the wrist watch phone has a very limited range though and does not work in many places other cell phones that will.

- Wrist watch cell phones are a great idea. However, the ones that are on the market are terribly expensive. Bringing the prices down would be good for the product I think. The economic downturn is encouraging people to go after cheap and reliable products. But then again wrist watch cell phone technology is till relatively young. It may take a few more years before we see cheap ones on the market.
