Each episode of Cold Case begins with a flashback scene that establishes the year in which the crime took place, as well as a set of characters in a seemingly mundane situation. These flashbacks feature a different style of direction, whether it be the colors, lighting, shading, or camera angles. Flashbacks often match a style from that era, such as a black-and-white flashback depicting the 1950s.
If you're anywhere but in front of your TV on Sunday nights, watching Cold Case, then you're missing some good stuff. Cold Case is not only operatic, with a different bloody libretto and a different leitmotif each week, but has ambitions on the grander scale of Gesamtkunstwerk, of total Wagnerian theater-including a jukebox time machine. So you like Kathryn Morris? Me too! When I was bored and depressed about 10 years ago or so, I was watching TV a lot, and I discovered her in some ads for a bank. She had the same kind of qualities you see in this picture--friendly, warm smile, easy-going, the kind of person a man or a woman could like. Poll: Who is Your Favorite Cold Case Character?
Oh, Scotty Valens has got to be my favorite!! He's smart, strong and not to mention very very sexy!! He is a great actor too!! I also relate to Lilly, as she struggles with personal intimacy issues while being ultra savvy at her job. And she fights the demons of growing up in a messed up family. These two are becoming my new favorite tv duo (behind Booth/Brennan, of course).

cold case always has a twist and thanks to this show i actually found what i want to do with my career! their music selection is GREAT i always find myself in every episode dowloading a new track. for some reason i NEVER guess the killer thats how good the story is written unlike CSI its so predictable.

By nature "cold cases" should be VERY hard to solve, but the girl solves every one of them! If the show was written more intelligently, I could buy it. Unlike CSI, it isn't new found forensics that finds the killer, but just regular interviewing of people. Very hard to believe.

This is an amazing show, and its not about seeking justice for the victim. This show is really about guilt and redemption. In almost every episode, the perp is not a homicidal maniac, or even a bad person (there are a few exceptions), but someone who snaps and makes a bad judgment in the heat of the moment. The point is that this action not only takes the life of the victim, but in most cases takes a far worse toll on the perp. In the end, there is usually some evidence pointing to the perp, but not enough to bring charges without a confession. The reason we are all fans of this show is that the perps reveal themselves in the end to be good people when they make a full confession and regain some part of their own life that died along with the victim.
