Genius has side effects.
House stars English actor Hugh Laurie as the American title character Dr. Gregory House, a maverick medical genius who heads a team of diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. The original diagnostic team consists of Dr. Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer), Dr. Allison Cameron (Jennifer Morrison), and Dr. Eric Foreman (Omar Epps). In the fourth season, this team is disbanded and House gradually winnows a field of forty applicants to a new team consisting of Dr. Remy "Thirteen" Hadley (Olivia Wilde), Dr. Chris Taub (Peter Jacobson), and Dr. Lawrence Kutner (Kal Penn). - 5x01 Dying Changes Everything
- In the aftermath of personal tragedy, Wilson resigns from the hospital, while Cuddy desperately tries to get the two to repair their friendship. Meanwhile, Thirteen struggles with her medical problems.
- 5x02 Not Cancer
- An organ donor's organs are responsible for the deaths of several patients, and the team works to save the last two recipients. Meanwhile, House hires private detective Lucas (Michael Weston) to spy on Wilson.
- 5x03 Adverse Events
- A painter's undiagnosed illness begins to affect his work, after his girlfriend notices the grotesqueness of his paintings. He is brought to Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital, though he claims that he is getting better.
- 5x04 Birthmarks
- House finds out that his father has passed away and is coerced into going to the funeral despite his strongest protests. Back at Princeton-Plainsboro, the team take on the case of a young woman, who was adopted by American parents, that collapsed while in China looking for her birth parents.
- 5x05 Lucky Thirteen
- After a woman whom she had a one-night stand with begins seizing in her apartment, Thirteen takes her to Princeton-Plainsboro. House and the team take on her case, with House using the case as an opportunity to explore Thirteen's personal life.
- 5x06 Joy
- The team take on the case of a middle-aged man who has been experiencing recurring blackouts and time lapses. They soon find out that the man's 12-year-old daughter has been experiencing sleepwalking spells.
- 5x07 The Itch
- An agoraphobic man falls ill and refuses to leave his home to be treated at the hospital. Therefore, House and the team go to his home to figure out what might be wrong. Cameron takes charge of the case as she had treated the patient in the past.

I thought this would be insteresting i've seen similiar posts on other boards. I think Cuddy has a much more honest view of House and all his little issues! and I think she can handle them better, not to mention after the whole birthing a baby twice, I think House was seriously considering children and the whole philosophy on why people have them.

House vs. Grey's Anatomy
I was musing today about dichotomies in entertainment, and how there are almost always two vastly different sides to anything. I happen to be watching quite a bit of TV medical dramas these past couple of months, and always find myself comparing the current dichotomy of House and Grey's Anatomy. When it comes to snappy banter, House wins whereas Grey's compensates wtih voiceover narration. Where House is flippant and glib, Grey's is warm and irresistibly cuddly.
So, House and Grey's Anatomy are having a bit of rivalry... whose side are you on??

Have you ever gone to a doctor or specialist and thought, "What a jerk!" Sadly, it happens to just about everyone. On the flip side, most of them are brilliant and get the job done. Let's face it, House is a jerk and happens to be quite dysfunctional, but he gets his patients on the road to recovery. I think somewhere deep down House has a good heart.

- I have several chronic conditions and would love to have a jerk as a doctor if he could dx and treat my body correctly. The problem is that with health care in the US even in a good system you don't always get the care you need.
My one big problem with the show is the way they portray opiate therapy (ie when House was taking Methadone and she said "people die on it" That's totally untrue. Take as directed ALL opiate therapies are safe. We who take opiate therapy have a hard enough time without IDIOTS making it harder. They need to get someone on the show that understands opiates/narcotics and has good knowledge of the drugs, their uses and their effects.
