The Defective Detective
Adrian Monk was a brilliant detective for the San Francisco Police Department until his wife, Trudy, was killed by a car bomb, which Monk believed was intended for him. Trudy's death led Monk to suffer a nervous breakdown and he was discharged from the force, becoming a recluse, refusing to leave his house for over three years. With the help of his nurse, he was finally able to leave the house. The breakthrough allowed him to work as a private detective and a consultant for the homicide unit despite retaining limitations rooted in his obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Whatever happened to the good old sitcoms? Is there any originality left in television anymore? When searching for a worthwhile TV show, there is one that stands out among them all. Monk isn't your average detective. His wife was killed in a car explosion 3 year ago. He suffered a major breakdown and is now trying to get reinstated on the police force with the help of his private nurse. Monk's got lots of problems. He is Obsessive Compulsive, has fear of crowds, heights, the dark, and milk. Yes milk. Yet he is the greatest detective around. In one episode he even tried to straighten up the crime scene because the mess was driving him crazy.

Discussion: Sharona vs. Natalie
The new season of Monk is pretty solid - but I still feel like it's missing something with the departure of Bitty Schram's character, Sharona. Maybe it's because I liked Sharona's character more, but it seems like this season of NCIS is focusing too many episodes on Natalie's romance. Judging by USA's message board, I seem to be in the minority of preferring Sharona over Natalie.

It's Sharona all the way!!! Natalie has been on there long enough for me to get over the switch, but I just can't. Natalie is too boring. Sharona had that spunk that Monk needs.

Having watched episodes with both, I love Sharona. Natalie has no personality. You could replace her tomorrow with somebody completely different, and it wouldn't matter at all.
