Amy Juergens has been fighting with her mom, Anne - and not about stupid teen stuff like cleaning her room or making curfew, either. No, this little spat is over whether to give 15-year-old Amy's unborn baby up for adoption. The Secret Life of the American Teenager is another good 7th Heaven type show that deals with serious issues in a family friendly way. The young actors are all very good and believable, and although it is a little bit cheesy, I would prefer this show to Hannah Montana anyday. Continue Reading...

In the past few weeks, I've seen every episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager. We all have guilty pleasures. I've been known to watch a show because the guys and gals were easy on the eyes (Gossip Girl, anyone?), this is no exception.

- Struggling to deal with motherhood, Amy suspects that Anne could be pregnant. Meanwhile, Ben decides he does not like Betty, whom his father is seemingly in love with. While visiting John, Ricky finds out about Anne's pregnancy.
- S02E02 What's Done Is Done
- Grace is plagued with guilt, thinking that she caused her father's untimely death. As her friends visit her, she refuses to change her opinion. Meanwhile, Ben tries to figure out where he fits in in Amy's life when she refuses to let him babysit John.
- S02E03 Par for the Course
- Jack visits Grace to tell her once again that her father's death is not her fault. However, she refuses to see just and denies that she loves him. Tired from running around, Amy reaches a breaking point. Meanwhile, wanting to have sex with Amy, Ben quits his job at the butcher shop.
- S02E04 Ciao
- Grace is caught on tape, with a shirtless Ricky, defending herself against two drunk men and soon becomes the talk of the town. Amy gets mad at Ben, who doesn't understand that sometimes she needs to just talk to her friends. They make up afterwords.
- S02E05 Born Free
- Grace shares a secret. Elsewhere, Amy tries to devise a way to tag along with Ben on his trip. Meanwhile, amy and ricky share a moment.

Hey, I am a girl and i am not bi or a lesbian or anything but does anyone else think Shailene Woodley(aka: Amy Jeurgens on the Secret life of the American teenager show) is really pretty. I think she is gorgeous and wish I had her hair. I love how fit she is. Does any other girl think this?
If you were in Amy's shoes what would you do?
When Amy tells her friends about her problem, the subject of abortion is quickly raised and just as quickly dismissed. It might have been nice if the series could have looked at abortion more objectively - as an actual option, rather than a taboo topic. Don't let's start sending mails, all. I'm not cheering for abortion or saying that it's something every woman should do - I'm just realistically saying that it is, however unpleasant, an option.

She was the only person who got it! Wether you like it or not if you go for abortion you are murdering you're own child! No matter how hard it is to be a mom so early I think it will still be 10 times easier then living with yourself knowing that you killed youre child, murdered youre baby so you could pretend nothing happened and so mummy and daddy wouldn't punish you! Like that matters when you have a new life growing inside of you! A life that came from you! Please remember abortion is the easy solution, but the easy solution is not usualy the right one! Face the facts! Your baby has just as much right to live as you and you know what? Who are we to decide you lives or not so we can have it easy?

But in the situation that is presented in the TV series I think abortion could be an option, because some people cannot handle becoming parents at such a young age, and yes, it is your own fault, but would you rather have an abortion or have the child suffer because it is not given the care needed?

Im not at all for them, but when your under 16-17,(and you didnt purposfully get pregnant) you shouldnt have a baby, because your not done school and to go through the pregnancy at 15 yrs old, its kinda a bad experience. But if you have the money and your family or whoever is capable of taking care of the baby, then it depends:)

I'd have to say, I'd get an abortion, depending on how far along I was. Or, I would go for adoption because I am a kid of adoption. :) I know that right now, I am not ready for a child and neither is my Bear. I'm not saying I love abortion or anything, but sometimes things happen. If I was older, then I would more likely keep the baby. I just know I wouldn't be able to give it the right kind of life as I am now.

hmm, im going to have to think about this tough, controversial question. abortion or not? well this is the question on everyones mind isnt it? many say that abortion is not the way to go and i must say i do agree to an extent, but on the other hand, a young pubescent woman like herself would be prone to wanting to give up the young zygote. so, in conclusion on behalf of myself, id like to state that my formal answer is, the option of 'get an abortion' not 'give it up for adoptiion' (just to stop confusion) thankyou for this oportunity to speak my feelings.
